[Everyone gets to see two familiar faces this time, with a couple of twists. Dick (the elder) is sitting down in the chair, wearing a bright red coat with white trim, a hat of the same color, and of course, a beard to match the whole thing. It’s pulled down, though, so you can see his face. And his wonderful assistant, Zatanna, is standing behind him, dressed up like the most beautiful elf there is. They’re both looking pretty happy about this.]

It’s getting cold out! And what does cold mean? Holiday fun, of course. So I, and my amazing elf assistant here, have decided that Santa Claus needs to come to the turtle. [See what he did there? See it? Okay, good.]

And so it is with pleasure that we let everyone know-- [He gets cut off as Zatanna leans forward, and he looks up at her.]

[The fifteen-year-old elf bends down until she's level with his ear, covering her mouth so she could whisper something secretively to him.]

Really?

[She nods, and offers a playful wink.] Trust me. I know a guy who knows the guy personally.

[Dick looks back at the screen, and his voice drops into a perfect, heavy Russian accent.] Is this better?

[She practically has to bite her tongue to keep from bursting out laughing. Impressive. She should've known.] It'll do.

[Dick grins.] I’d like to invite everyone to come over to the Wood sector, where we have a little holiday party going on.

[He stops, laughing and shaking his head. He has to drop the Russian accent.] Okay, I can’t keep that one up, but I tried! Anyway, we’ve got a small thing going on in a café in the Wood sector, with some cakes and gingerbread-ish things, and some hot drinks. And what would Santa be without his...

[He holds up a huge, red velvet-like bag.] Bag, yes! And it is filled with little odds and ends, so there are presents for all!

[Dick sets the bag down, and pulls the beard back up with a grin.] And to all, a good... day? Yeah, that still works. To all, a good day! Remember, café in the Wood sector, we’ll be here awhile!

[ And it means a lot to Jack too. Even though he won't end up coming to the party because of what will follow this conversation, he's sincere in that. ]

Don't worry, you've got the right idea. Things'll just start to fit from there.

It seems to be getting a following. Or a small crowd that wants to come by and laugh, which we'll take, too. [Dick has to grin.]

We're really not too picky on what people are laughing about today.

Definitely an end result kind of day, for sure.

[ He laughs a little bit. ]

We'll just set you up with some yetis and you'll be all set, ready to take on the holidays this year.

It really helps if you're not afraid of making a fool of yourself. [Dick laughs. He's always been the kind of guy who didn't care that much.

He cares, but not on something like this.] Wait, yetis? Is that safe? I've never met a yeti, do they eat people?

[ Jack's the same way. He's always ready to be the jester if it's on his terms, if he's doing it for someone else. ]

Yeah, the yetis are awesome. They've worked for North for centuries, take care of the Workshop, even make the toys from the prototypes. I know, I know, it's supposed to be the elves. Trust me, you don't want the elves doing it -- no offense to the lovely lady elf present.

[It's a great way to be, and really, Dick wouldn't change it for anything. He doesn't matter what he gets like as he gets older. He loves it.]

What? The yetis do it? Then what does he have the elves around for? Is this some kind of union thing? Don't worry, I won't tell her, I know it's been her dream ever since she was young, to be an elf that makes toys, versus an elf that let's the yetis do it.

I know, right? Even I thought the elves made the toys until I got the official tour with North. He said that he just lets the elves believe they're doing all the work. They're a little... odd, the elves. But they used to be North's people back before he became a Guardian and he cares for them more than he lets on.

[It's like his whole life has been one big lie.]

You always take care of family, no matter who you are. [He nods.] You know, I don't actually know what being a Guardian is. Obviously it means guarding something, but I don't think the way I know the word is the same thing.

[ He'll help you through the emotional trauma, Dick. But Jack does smile when he talks about family. ]

Yes, you do. Absolutely you do.

A Guardian is a spirit who's sworn to protect kids. Physically of course, if they can. But also what's important to them while they grow. North's the Guardian of Wonder... Bunny of Hope, Tooth of Memories, Sandy of Dreams.

[Family is something Dick takes very seriously. It doesn't matter if they try to kill you, though it makes it harder to help. But family matters.

Oh my god though, this is just amazing. He is such a big kid, the Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy actually real? Someone can vouch for them? Is the coolest thing.]

That's amazing. Really, it's not something people think about much as they get older, but it makes a lot of sense if you think about it! Makes sense to me, anyway, but I also did come on here in a Santa costume, so I don't know how much pull I actually have.

You have all the pull of the man himself, Dick. Putting on that suit for the meaning of what you're doing is stronger than you know.
