[Hello hello Jack is greeting all of you lovely post-waterlogged people with a salute and a smile. For the so inclined, you might notice the backdrop has changed a little - because he's not in his flat. He is in fact posting from the Doctor's computer.]
Has there been a damage assessment from the storm yet? Property, businesses, people? If anyo-
[ But whoever could this be? In the background, those watching may spy the familiar face of the Doctor. Except instead of his usual tweed and bowtie, he's wrapped in a blanket and not looking quite as energetic as usual for anyone familiar with him. ]
-- Jack. Something feels off.
[ ...something being the mauve tinge his face currently has.
Come round, everyone. Thus begins the wonderful story of "Captain Jack hears an achoo!"
In which Jack turns around to witness said mauve, trailing off and forgetting whatever he was talking about.]
Doctor? ...You're purple.
Mauve, actually. And it's really quite concerning.
My hands are all clammy and my forehead feels like burning.
I liked you better pink. --Are you sick? Can you get sick?
That's only on Wednesdays and no, that's rubbish. I really can't be sure, I need a celery stick.
Are you channeling Dr. Seuss? What did you get into now?
I feel just okay, I feel just fine. If you don't believe me, come see how -- [ and conveniently cut off by a sneeze. ]
I'm simultaneously confused and grossed out. You need to lay down. And stop talking.
Nonsense, Jack. It's not all that shocking. It was barely a sneeze. Look, I'm still walking! [ aaannnnndd now he's not because irony has him flopping down at that very moment. ]
Well, at least he laid down. ...Doctor? Doctor-
[woops time to cut that recording off]
(ooc: blue is jack, purple is the doctor)

suite 2a!
Don't worry about the time,
come when you may.
[ he groans, because that really shouldn't have needed to rhyme. but alas. he'll flop on the console for a second before building up the energy to send her some location coordinates as well ]

Doctor?
action
He waves as best as he can before ushering her in. Even with the sickness he doesn't forget his human culture manners and moves to airkiss her on both cheeks. Good thing there's a blanket between them. ]
Yue, hello! How are you?
[ look ma, no rhyming. (for now) ]
action
Still, she holds up the bags containing everything she needs.]
I'm all right, I've got everything I need! Some of it is almost the same as what we have in the Northern Water Tribe, but for other ingredients I have to improvise with... though when I made it before, it tasted just like the stewed sea prunes back home. Or at least, they were close enough. [Um.]
You should go sit down, I'll get started. [She's never really taken care of anyone like this before, but she'll certainly do her best to at least try and make the Doctor feel better.]
action
this stew from the Northern Water Tribe.
I do hope it helps,
maybe it's what a doctor'd prescribe?
[ oh no, the rhyming's back. accompanying is a fit of sneezes that lasts for about a minute after which he groans and slumps onto a chair. the top of his hair can be seen poking out from the blankets and he adjusts until his whole head sticks out and he can sigh. ]
Thank you for this, you really didn't have to.
Do let me know if there's anything I can help do!
action
No, no, it's fine! You need to rest. [Probably.]
action
Top one to the left!
Are you sure you'll be able
to manage it alright?
[ because he will come and try to help ]
action
Though she does roll her eyes a little. DOCTOR STOP FUSSING she is going to take care of everything o k.]
Stay where you are, Doctor. I'll be fine. [She reaches up to get what she needs - it's an effort, but she succeeds - before she gets started with preparing everything.]
I didn't know that there was a sickness that caused... well, this. [The purple and the rhyming. Whoops someone just thinks he can only get human illnesses.]
action
I didn't rhyme? ...I didn't rhyme!
Perhaps the illness finally hit its prime -- [ he makes a face because oh no, no way is he ending in a rhyme again and after some struggle akin to someone with a cold trying not to sneeze, he succeeds and continues his sentence ] -- and is going to wear off soon?
I can attest,
that this illness has
got me stumped at best,
and I feel a bit mad! [ oops maybe sometime he'll let her onto the whole alien thing ]
action and fghfsdhghfdhgfh SORRY I MISREAD THAT ORIGINAL THING OTL
I hope it won't stay with you for too long. Being sick is never good, but we have to live with it until it goes away. [Adding in seasonings, la la la.]
But at least we can try and make it easier to bear while it's happening, right?
action LMAO no dont even worry it's my bad!!
I'd never thought about it like that. Even my body generally doesn't seem to like bearing it at the best of times.
action
action
And not for very long.
I can do a bit of a regeneration trick,
every time I don't feel strong.
[ hello deus ex moffat ]
Re: action
Regeneration?
action
My body can sort of heal when things go amiss!
action
It can? That's... interesting. [And not something a normal human can do quickly.]
action
So it doesn't happen too often. Don't let me mislead -- you.
[ hey yeah, smile, because rhyming definitely seems to be less strong now! ]
action
I'm glad. I'd hope you wouldn't have to do anything like that just because you're purple and rhyming poorly. [Teasing!]
action
What's wrong with my rhyming?
I think it's been great!
Look, I'll show you now.
One, two, three, marmalade.
-- oh, alright, it wasn't quite the perfect rhyme. And no, nothing like this would warrant the use of regeneration! I hope. [ doctor look you said some full sentences. no rhyming! ]
action
If we're lucky, maybe this is a sign that your illness won't last very long.
action
If your water tribe dish can help speed it up,
it'd be really appreciated.
Speaking of, how long's it been?
Are you sure they won't be overheated?
action
Maybe it'll feel like time passes by faster if we find something interesting to talk about. [AAAAAND... drawing a blank.]
action
Yue, tell me more about your home? [ it is an attempt? ]
action
Oh, well... it's very beautiful. I already told you that all of our buildings are made out of ice, but that doesn't really do them any justice. Almost everything has been shaped and sculpted with waterbending. It's like... it's almost like living in a work of art.
I really wish I could show you, someday.
