Am I the only one who thinks it's suspicious how, in the weeks around the Emperor's murder, our presence is suddenly graced with a pair of queens, a princess, a prince, and whatever that horned kid is? It's not the first grouping I've noticed.

As in the Hazelwood Emperor potentially knowing that this is coming, or as in -something- having more of a hand in choosing who is going to be taken here than previously thought?

The latter. I don't think Emperor Eshai knew that it was coming. The whole thing was too sloppy. Besides, she wasn't about to line up all the f.o.b. foreigners to take her place. No one gives a shit if they have experience; the kedan aren't all that fucking fond of us as a whole. I don't see them throwing roses at the reigning foreigner, do you? No, it's either coincidence or -something- is messing with the random algorithm. It could be simple. The turtle woke up half the city with her telepathic crying. Maybe all the grief and magic fucked more up than our sleep. Maybe -someone else- is trying to rub it in our faces.

Not an impossibility. Although I believe one of the queens appeared before the former Emperor's demise, that is not a theory so easily discounted. Are you willing to share thoughts on the other patterns you've noticed?

She did, but close enough to it that you can't ignore it. Most of the patterns are short and stupid, like the fax machine froze and keeps spitting out the same page. Queen Elsa of Arendelle shows up. Anna from Arendelle shows up looking for her sister Elsa. Look through the Network, and you'll find minor ones that you can dismiss as coincidence or even suitability for the job. This is the first one that I've seen that's in such a tight time period, with this number of people, and with this many worlds in play.

Ignoring anything is dangerous. And keeping more alert for other signs of motion from the 'fax machine' won't do any harm.
