[Well this sure is a video post. It opens on Kidd, who's looking rather casually bored, dressed up in all the stolen finery one might expect of a pirate. His accent is vaguely British-y, and his tone is casually bored.]

I've heard tell this turtle of ours stops off at locations along the course of its journey. And these shores— would anyone say they at all resemble the Caribbean? Nassau, perhaps?

[He assumes otherwise, but it never hurts to ferret out little bits of information. If nothing else, mention of Nassau might weed out any who know the region and what it stands for. Stood for. He cocks his head to one side, there's maybe a hint of something predatory to his expression.]

I find it curious, aye, to be plain, that we can be so long at sea without fear of outside attack. Pirates, and the like. This place is grand enough, but hardly impregnable. Has anyone considered proper fortifications for it t'all? A blockade, perhaps, or cannons? Or something a sight more modern, I understand there's all manner of things not common to my era.

[Well, he don't look much like any heavy hitter Kidd's ever seen, but looks can be deceiving. Something he's used to his advantage more'n'once upon a time.]

Being part of a group don't mean you'll always be part of that group, lad. Better to be well rounded on your own merits than use others as a crutch.

[Still, it's a gentle sort of statement.]

But I'd be glad to speak with your compatriots, regardless.

[He nods, because he agrees. He's thought a lot about it. Kidd will get locations to Percy and Annabeth's suite as well as Leo's before he typesagain.] I learned to fight in a Roman camp, the Legion way. They were pretty big on teamups and that's the way we learned to handle ourselves in battle and war. I guess I could fight alone if I had to, but I always resort to my friends first.

[That's an odd specialization, although Kidd supposes the title now makes sense.]

It's quite the contrary, for me. Pirates tend to value their own life and liberty above all else. They fight in groups, aye. But they fight more for their own ends than that of a team. If you'd fancy training on the subject, I could be persuaded, perhaps, to lend a hand.

['So you really are a pirate!' is typed, but a thing about typing what you're going to say is that foot in mouth syndrome is practically nonexistent.]

Persuaded, huh? I would really like to flesh that out and get training, actually. I like having training in every skill that might come in handy.
