[ Jack's been largely off network for about a month, other than replying to those whom he's closest with. But there's too much to do and too many people who needed him to not be uselessly hung up on his own issues. So he faces the console screen with something much closer to his usual good cheer and Baby Tooth is perched in her usual spot on his shoulder. ]

There's been a lot of new people lately so I thought I'd bring this up again. My name's Jack Frost, this is Baby Tooth and I'm... kind of in charge of the Welcome Center here in the city. For anyone who's arrived lately, the kedan who showed you where your suite was should have mentioned it to you.

[ There will be a location ping that shows a very centrally located address, one that if anyone else in the city has tried to procure a business of their own will know is normally unavailable. ]

If you need anything that the kedan weren't able to provide at your suite, let me know and I'll see if I can track it down. Don't worry about if it costs money you haven't got yet. I've collected information about the city that'll help you get settled in and they're in brochures, there's books you can borrow that aren't in kedanese if you want to borrow them, like a library. Just bring them back in one piece, 'cause there aren't that many and we only seem to get more when we visit a mainland. Oh, and I have a list of some kedan shopkeepers who are willing to take on Foreigner employees so they can start working.

If you want to volunteer some time, just let me know. You don't need any kind of experience, just be willing to answer questions and help people learn about the city.

[ He thinks for a moment but can't come up with anything he's forgotten. ]

Yup. I think that's everything.

Oh, so you're Jack! Rapunzel told me all about you! -Well, not all about you, but you know, enough. Anyway- I'm Anna, and I was hoping I could help out at the Welcome Center! [She laughs a little, brushing some hair back from her eyes.] Hi?

[ Jack's expression brightens as he sees her and she gives her name. Plus, he can see the resemblance to her sister. ]

That's me. Rapunzel told me you were here... you're Queen Elsa's sister, right? It's nice to meet you.

[ He hasn't explicitly been told to drop the title so he's defaulting to it. ]

There's no such thing as too much help when it comes to getting others settled in... Tu Vishan can be a real culture shock for a lot of people.

[snehjerte]

[Her smile immediately warms, melting any first-meeting awkwardness away. Not that he was being awkward at all. That's totally on her.]

I guess I should've figured you and my sister met. You sort of have some common interests, I think.

[That gets her to let out a breath, her shoulders sagging slightly.] Oh, tell me about it. So much is different, and people are from different timelines-- And then there's the whole turtle thing on top of that, and that's a real doozy. I mean, whoa!

[wintershepherd]

[ Jack's expression says more than his words. ]

It was really something to meet someone who can do the same things I can, even if we're not exactly the same. I guess it's not common where you two are from?

Sometimes it helps if you focus a little narrower. Start with learning the city and meeting the kedan, they're good people.

[ Sure there'd been that little hiccup where they'd all turned hostile, but that was (hopefully, permanently) in the past. ]

'Specially the kids.

[Maybe she's reading too much into his expression. Either way, whatever happiness or excitement she sees there is enough to get her optimistic, hopeless romantic ideals fired up.]

Oh, I'm sure she enjoyed spending time with you, too! To really have a chance to cut loose and have a little fun with what she can do... [Then a random thought occurs to her.] You didn't happen to make all the snow that's covering this city or something, did you? Not that it matters! Just curious.

[It really doesn't matter. So- Anyway. Switching gears.] I'll be sure to try that! And- it sounds like you've got a bit of a soft spot for kids?

[wintershepherd]

Nope, this stuff is all natural. We've been in a much colder climate for the last two months... last winter it didn't snow at all. Depends on where the turtle feels like he wants to swim, I guess.

[ Jack nods at her question. ]

Definitely.

[snehjerte]

Oh... Right, the turtle is still swimming around! [She'd totally forgotten about that.]

Why's that?

[wintershepherd]

[ See, his advice is already working! ]

Well... I'm a Guardian.

[ It's been over a year and those words still taste strange on his tongue, but he smiles when he says them, in such a way that she can hear the title of it. ]

Guardians protect children, in my world.

[snehjerte]

[Or she's just excitable and easily distracted?]

Oh! Wow, that- That sounds really important... What do you protect them from?

[wintershepherd]

It's kind of a long story. Weren't we talking about you and the Welcome Center?

[snehjerte]

Well, we were, and then we were talking about you and my sister being friends and bonding over making ice things!

[wintershepherd]

I take it you saw the ice palace then?

[snehjerte]

Yes! Well, from a distance, not up close. And I saw the one she'd made back home, too!

[wintershepherd]

[ Jack smiles, Anna's enthusiasm being infectious. ]

She talked about you, you know.

[snehjerte]

Oh! Sh-She did?

[For all that they've been reconnecting since she got here, it's still a shock.]

What did she say?

[wintershepherd]

Only good things, I promise.

[ He won't relay the entire conversation, but he feels it's important for Anna to know that she was on her sister's mind when Elsa thought her sibling wasn't present. (He'd want to know, in her position.) ]

[snehjerte]

[That makes her smile-- But she's still curious.]

Liiiiiike what?

[wintershepherd]

You don't want to ask her yourself?

[snehjerte]

Well, I'm not so sure that she'd actually tell me, so it might be better to hear it from you!

[wintershepherd]

She was worried about you, when she thought you weren't here. Arriving here, finding out the whole giant turtle, even meeting someone with magic not unlike hers? You were the most important thing on her mind.

[snehjerte]

[That... makes her happier than she probably even knows how to say. The look on her face foots the line between shock and joy before it just melts into a smile. She ducks her head a little in embarrassment, pushing some hair from her eyes.]

Well, we are sisters... When I first got here, all I wanted was to find her, too.

[wintershepherd]

It's wonderful that you're so close.

[snehjerte]

We used to be a lot closer, when we were little! But at least now we're finally reconnecting.

[wintershepherd]

[ Though his smile isn't forced, Jack still needs to change the subject; it's starting to press upon a hollow ache in his heart. ]

So do you want to stop by the Welcome Center in the next couple of days and I'll show you around?

[snehjerte]

That'd be great! I mean, as long as you've got the time for it. I wouldn't want to be forcing you, I'm sure your hands get full with the Welcome Center and all!
