[ Jack's been largely off network for about a month, other than replying to those whom he's closest with. But there's too much to do and too many people who needed him to not be uselessly hung up on his own issues. So he faces the console screen with something much closer to his usual good cheer and Baby Tooth is perched in her usual spot on his shoulder. ]

There's been a lot of new people lately so I thought I'd bring this up again. My name's Jack Frost, this is Baby Tooth and I'm... kind of in charge of the Welcome Center here in the city. For anyone who's arrived lately, the kedan who showed you where your suite was should have mentioned it to you.

[ There will be a location ping that shows a very centrally located address, one that if anyone else in the city has tried to procure a business of their own will know is normally unavailable. ]

If you need anything that the kedan weren't able to provide at your suite, let me know and I'll see if I can track it down. Don't worry about if it costs money you haven't got yet. I've collected information about the city that'll help you get settled in and they're in brochures, there's books you can borrow that aren't in kedanese if you want to borrow them, like a library. Just bring them back in one piece, 'cause there aren't that many and we only seem to get more when we visit a mainland. Oh, and I have a list of some kedan shopkeepers who are willing to take on Foreigner employees so they can start working.

If you want to volunteer some time, just let me know. You don't need any kind of experience, just be willing to answer questions and help people learn about the city.

[ He thinks for a moment but can't come up with anything he's forgotten. ]

That's me. Rapunzel told me you were here... you're Queen Elsa's sister, right? It's nice to meet you.

[ He hasn't explicitly been told to drop the title so he's defaulting to it. ]

There's no such thing as too much help when it comes to getting others settled in... Tu Vishan can be a real culture shock for a lot of people.

[Her smile immediately warms, melting any first-meeting awkwardness away. Not that he was being awkward at all. That's totally on her.]

I guess I should've figured you and my sister met. You sort of have some common interests, I think.

[That gets her to let out a breath, her shoulders sagging slightly.] Oh, tell me about it. So much is different, and people are from different timelines-- And then there's the whole turtle thing on top of that, and that's a real doozy. I mean, whoa!

[She was hanging out in his windowsill. One leg lazily swinging over the ledge below. Back rested against the wooden frame. Eyes closed. Inhaling the fresh air. At a glance, it would seem like she was blissfully ignoring just about everything the boy was announcing over the Network. Maybe tuning in and out at the sound of certain keywords or phrases. Otherwise, lost in her own world.]

[And yes, the moment he hung up, she lazily turned her head in his general direction.]

If you're not careful, Jack, you're going to run out of money trying to take care of the entire city like that.

[ Jack just smiles because he's come close a few times and only the fact that he doesn't need to eat has provided funds with which to pay his employees at the fish shop. ]

[Swinging her leg over the ledge, she turns to face inside. Toes not quite reaching the ground.]

[ He just stops eating or paying himself on days when the till comes up thin at work. But he's definitely not telling you that. Jack notes the encryption and raised an unseen eyebrow. ]

[That's all very helpful, Jack, but Sarah's full attention is on Baby Tooth.]

[ Jack grins as Baby Tooth preens a little and then replies in a series of chirps and trills, which the spirit translates. ]

She says thank you, and that you'er pretty cute yourself. You're the new neighbour, right?

[And he can understand her, or he's pretending to. Sarah doesn't mind. This is awesome.]

Sure, no problem.

[ He'll send through a list of perhaps a dozen shops scattered around the various sectors. Mostly the jobs are like cashiering, some cleaning, some stocking of shelves. ]

I've talked to all the kedan on this list, they're good people who don't mind training if it's not something you've done before.

Same with the Welcome Center. What's your name?

[Despite the map and the directions from the Kedan, it takes Russell longer than he expected to find the place. He hasn't been here long enough for anything to look familiar, and he gets turned around more than once, distracted by the people, the buildings. Pretty much everything. Still, he finds the place eventually and looks it over. It looks good, very new, very clean. He scrapes non-existent dirt off his shoes before coming in.]
