003 ▐ VIDEO
( For someone who is generally a smiling presence on the network, Shockwave is surprisingly morose. Dressed in a somber black dress, hair pulled back into a simple braided bun, there's a weight to Shockwave's expression that has been absent for most of Shockwave's time on the turtle. It's overwhelmingly sad, but lacking the traces of tears or red eyes that one might associate with it. There's only so much a holoform can do - crying is not one of them. )
Orion Pax has gone. If anyone has information on what happens after we've vanished from this place, I would appreciate it. ( Call it scientific curiosity, but also call it trying to keep tabs on if there's any trace of Cybertronian technology just laying around for someone to stumble across. A second or two passes in which Shockwave buries their face in their hands, shoulders slumping. Shockwave managed to get the majority of a very emotional reaction over and done with before approaching the network, but apparently not all of it. Looking back up at the feed, Shockwave continues. ) If you had dealings with him, I apologize. I cannot take his place in law enforcement, but I will do my best to keep any other arrangements he might have made.
( Shockwave pushes something away from the feed gently, a flash of plush horns and fur the only glimpse of the robotic plush Shockwave received as a gift the last landfall. But it does remind Shockwave that there's still things to be discussed rather than wallowing around in grief. )
It's come to my attention that a few datapads from my world might have ended up at auction last month. They're rather large - it's hard to mistake them for anything else. If you've managed to come into possession of one I'll gladly repay you the cost and more for their return.
And lastly, is there still any interest for a school? It would be impossible to force anyone to attend who didn't wish to, nor do I think we should be constrained by what we deem to be a traditional educational system. Just those willing to teach and those willing to learn, regardless of age.
( For most the transmission ends there, but there's private encryptions for a few others. )

You wanted answers - I believe I can provide some of them in exchange for a favor.

You are owed a long-overdue explanation, even if you don't think so.

[No questions aside from that. She could have asked him for the favor anyway, but answers are a good bonus.]

( there's no way Shockwave is letting of what they do have be carted off to someplace unreachable. )

[He is literally going to drop everything and visit, because this is serious. More disappearances. He is getting tired of that. And he shows up to Shockwaves door in record time, knocking once he gets there.]
action;
Tony, however, gets a small smile when Shockwave answers the door - although the sadness is still etched into the face. )
Thank you for coming.
( Stepping aside so he can enter, Tony will find the first floor a complete mess of computer screens - it had been Orion's domain for the most part, and lacked some of Shockwave's careful precision when it came to organization. )
action;
What can I do to help? Just tell me where you need things.
[He can at least help her move Orion's belongings. He wants to tell her he's sorry, that it will be okay and Orion will be back, but he knows better than that. Still, Shockwave did call him over. Tony can help her out with what is in front of them. And maybe the rest will sort itself out too.]
action;
( It feels terribly final to say it, but there's an intense need to do so. Because Shockwave has never been one for bottling up feelings, and certainly isn't going to start now. )
Back in my universe-- I don't know what happens to me beyond certain details, but I will never see him again. Not as I am.
( Remember me as I was. They've already gone through this, Shockwave had given as much of a goodbye as they had time for. But somewhere everything had gone terribly wrong, Shockwave had gone terrible wrong. And without Orion there there was no way to found out how. )
action;
I'm sorry.
[His usual bright tone with her is subdued and gentle. And sincere, as much as he's ever been. Because you just don't know how much someone is losing when they come to Keeliai, and Tony has really grown to like both of them. Orion deserves his sincerity.]
Maybe- [He falters and shakes his head.] There has to be something we can do to stop this. It can't keep happening like this.

Hey, sorry about your... friend.
[If he gets corrected then he'll back off, but otherwise this is the perfect opportunity to offer a sympathetic ear and all that stuff.]

It's never easy and you treasure it all the more because you managed to get a second chance.

I know - and I am grateful for it, I am. I only wish I could have said a better goodbye.
( Shockwave's last words to him back in their universe was simple and to the point - but there was still so much to say that Shockwave hadn't gotten to. )

Or maybe he doesn't. He still can feel Orion's glare way back when he danced with Shockwave (it seems so long ago now); whether he's a husband or a boyfriend or whatever, it's kind of obvious she meant something to him. And that he meant something to her.
The direct message to him is almost a relief, really. It gives him another subject to hone in aside from the disappearance, something that's not actually safer but at least (he hopes) a little less sadder.]
Uh, okay... [His brows draw together a little, a curious and cautious look forming on his face.] How bad is this going to be and do I have to excuse myself to prepare for it first?

I think you might enjoy it. ( A beat as Shockwave considers how to go about this. ) Come by my suite at your convenience - we'll need to leave the city, but I've got a way to do that relatively quickly.

[A joke, obviously—and Leo laughs to emphasize just that—although Shockwave is like, super hot.]
Okay, okay, seriously though: I'm guessing Buford and Thomas need to sit this one out?

My condolences.
I do not, but I understand that some believe that those who leave return home. [It is a line of investigation that he has personally avoided so far, trying to not think of it, and has not looked into further.]
When you have the time, I would like to speak to you later.
[While the timing is not the most opportune, it may help serve as a distraction from Shockwave's grief. It is better to bring the matter up soon, rather than leave it waiting, with as many hints and clues as there have been already.]

( It's an important question to ask - the concept of a removable soul isn't anything new to Shockwave, it's standard procedure. Having Orion's spark return back to their universe is reassuring, but if it left his empty body lying around then Shockwave would need to intervene. )
Of course. I should have a moment once I've finished moving everything into my suite.

If you feel you need any assistance in moving things, I am willing to help.
[The offer is sincere, rather than perfunctory.]

( Now, at least, Shockwave doesn't have to worry about what to do with his body. )
Tony Stark has already volunteered his services, but thank you Jor-El. I'm afraid I'll have to miss a day or two of work in order to account for everything.

Please let me know when you are available.

( for now, Shockwave needed to stew over everything - Orion's disappearance, the murder of the Emperor, and a number of other, small things. like the matter of the remains of the satellite. )

Her face is serious when she switches on the feed.]
I'm sorry to hear it. He was a good officer.
As for the school-- [A minute hesitation.] I suppose you'd want to speak to Tarrlok for that.
video;
( Said without hesitation and with unwavering certainty. Shockwave is aware that Orion was never the most personable individual around, nor would some agree with his methods, but as far as Shockwave was concerned his morals and ideology placed him above all the rest - in the police force and out.
Four million years couldn't have changed him that much. )
Mm, yes, although I had gotten the impression that his idea was not well received. Perhaps less focus on structure and more on learning would create a more successful attempt.
