Fellow Foreigners of Keeliai, I ask that you indulge me in what could be a bit of census-taking!

In the interest of further defending this turtle and those who reside upon it, I wish to know and take note who among us are versed in magicks and similiar abilities. I feel it would suit our collective purpose better to have this information compiled, perhaps look into how our respective crafts interact or can be enhanced. Please, come forward, fellow casters; tell me your name and tell me your arts!

In the interest of fairness and demonstration of goodwill, I will state my own. I am Ixis Naugus and I specialize in, of course, Ixian magicks. The focus of such being the control and transformation of the four elements: air, water, fire and earth. I am a master of all four as well as a fifth of my own making, the transformation of matter into crystals nigh indestructible.

You do realize how freakin' creepy it is to be like "Hey! Here's what I can do! Show me yours now that I've shown you mine!"

No? This is a compiling of information; taking stock of what magical arsenal we have against the unnamed adversary. You know, trying to be proactive in what we can do against him either when the time comes or we formulate a plan of attack.

I assure you and anyone else who can access this conversation, my intentions are pure! What good is it that we are a collective summoned to save this land, only to remain mute on what we are capable of and refuse to collaborate? What if one of us runs afoul of the foe in an unprecedented way? Something one of our magi could purge or control? How will the set-upon turn to help when they know not if help is possible at all?

Unless you are advocating we all act as separate agents with our own plans and agendas, all cards close to the vest even from one another?

Seriously, never took you for the 'teamwork' type.

What does that even mean. Everyone has all powers and no powers until proven otherwise? We just go about our business until some manner of disaster strikes and we wait to see if someone pipes up about having an ability that can correct it?

I'm not much for teamwork, but I do like knowing what cards are in my deck. That and scholarly interest in what other magi here can do and comparing respective notes.

What it means is you bluster around the place like you're the prettiest pony in the stable, break into my house, and generally behave like a total jerk. So forgive me for not exactly seeing your altruistic and heroic side.

Because you say things like "cards in your deck." Guess what, genius? We're not dancing monkeys here to amuse you, and we're not your cannon fodder, and we're sure as hell not gonna line up and put our necks on your chopping block.

And fine. Fine. Need I remind you no one is being forced to step forward. This entire idea was something I had spoken with Ms. Sabriel about that she also found appealing and productive. Care to take up this matter with her as well? Either way, pardon me for actually attempting to do something rather than sit on my tail and wait for the next murder or disaster to roll around.

At least I have the ability to do something when that time comes.
