Fellow Foreigners of Keeliai, I ask that you indulge me in what could be a bit of census-taking!

In the interest of further defending this turtle and those who reside upon it, I wish to know and take note who among us are versed in magicks and similiar abilities. I feel it would suit our collective purpose better to have this information compiled, perhaps look into how our respective crafts interact or can be enhanced. Please, come forward, fellow casters; tell me your name and tell me your arts!

In the interest of fairness and demonstration of goodwill, I will state my own. I am Ixis Naugus and I specialize in, of course, Ixian magicks. The focus of such being the control and transformation of the four elements: air, water, fire and earth. I am a master of all four as well as a fifth of my own making, the transformation of matter into crystals nigh indestructible.

All of you guys need to have a wizard-mage get together. [That might break the turtle, but still- Zatanna backwards magic, Sabriel’s charter magic, Loki’s Asgablahblah; she’s given up on keeping track.

For all she knows, a lot of the magic users might keep away from bending like she does with magic. She shrugs and puts her hand on her cheek.]

Why the four elements? [That list is much smaller with only her, Aang, and Sep. Zatanna might be able to, she’s never asked…]

That is precisely what I am trying to facilitate with this announcement! I believe we would all benefit from networking, to see if there are potential arts that should not be mixed, or some that should. I personally would like to see the differences in casting from one realm to the next.

Why the four elements? Why not the four elements! Mastery of them is the core of my lost sect and I assure you, child, I am a master.

I beg your pardon? Experimental power on who's part? You are correct, I was not here, nor aware of this event.

[Naugus pinches the bridge of his nose with his one good hand as if to ward off a headache, obviously a little weary and irritated.]

It seems the enemy has already done plenty to the lot of you, that you are now so afraid of one another, perhaps even worse than you are of the enemy himself. You lot seem to forget that fear and mistrust are a power unto itself.

Yes! Ms. Sabriel the necromancer and medium, specializing in glyphs and symbols to cast. Though is there more to your craft than just that? Were that there were anything you'd care to elaborate on.

I wouldn't call myself a medium, since I don't conduct seances. [Sabriel doesn't bother to correct him about her title- she has no desire to have everyone call her 'Abhorsen', and even if she did, she'd get sick of having to explain what it meant all the time.]

Suffice to say that while I consider myself more than competent in the use of martial magic, it's not what truly interests me.

Ah, my mistake. Much in the same I wouldn't care to be called a shaman. I am not in-tune with the elements so much as I manipulate and replicate them.

When do you think would be the best time to consult you? On matters of the dead?

I know a thing or two about spells. Always a real delight. Oh! Where are my manners? I am Balthazar and...I'm not really all that sure what sort of elements one would consider what I do to be. I suppose...Holy?

And perhaps Time? I also dabble in Enochian which is more runes and such.

Well, I suppose it still has its uses. Just be mindful with it, that's all.

Chronomancy is something not many have the skill for, however! Colour me impressed. What command do you have of it?

Hmmmm...not a fan of Holy then. Right. And trust me when I say I am quite able to control it.

[This angel will just cross out the part of speaking of that unless prompted. Not everybody is a fan of angelic business.]

I once went back in time to change a few things around. Caused a nasty chain reaction of events.

Oh, like I said, it has its uses. Perhaps it will repel the nameless foe! But I stress that you be careful with it. It can be more harm than good, which is a matter some seem to not predict. Light magic isn't all...well, goodness and light.

Even if I may have my qualms with it, it is a craft I lack, and it's one more to use against the enemy. I should very well count this as a plus.

[His ears are still lying flat, though.]

Hopefully you're more mindful with it than you are your chronomancy? The single beat of a buttterfly's wings and that whole tale, after all. What were you trying to correct?

I am told that my sorcery is often considered magic.

My name is Tazendra, Lavode, Baroness of Daavya, and I have studied both the sorcery of the Dragaeran Empire and what is known as pre-Empire sorcery. In particular, I have no small knowledge of various forms of energy manipulation and storage, but have studied broadly.

Another mage scholar! Well met, my lady.

Tell me more about these matters of storage and manipulation. What forces can you bend and contain?

Well met! I am indeed, though I do not have my library or workshop here, save for finding a few texts brought to the last port of call.

As for energy manipulation, here is the expression of energy via heat or light or sound. One can also store such energy in an object, for release by an ally, even if that ally is not a sorcerer. Though that requires such assurances that the enemy cannot trigger the spell remotely.

There are more subtle effects of course, that do not unleash the energy directly, but channel it into work, such as levitation, or illusion -- which, you perceive, is the shaping of light and sound created by sorcery into an image.

The shortage of literature and the like is vexing, though I understand this land has its finite resources. I had to pay what felt a criminal amount just for these blank pages I have now.

[He taps his claw on the pile of books next to him. Then he listens politely to her explanation, nodding every now and again.]

All of this sounds most excellent. Can these illusions be shaped? Controlled? And the storage of energy for the use of non-magi sounds perfect. I continue to worry for those of our allies who have no abilities to speak of. Though since my announcement, others have graciously informed me that some prefer not to speak on what they are capable of. What is the point in that, I ask?
