Fellow Foreigners of Keeliai, I ask that you indulge me in what could be a bit of census-taking!

In the interest of further defending this turtle and those who reside upon it, I wish to know and take note who among us are versed in magicks and similiar abilities. I feel it would suit our collective purpose better to have this information compiled, perhaps look into how our respective crafts interact or can be enhanced. Please, come forward, fellow casters; tell me your name and tell me your arts!

In the interest of fairness and demonstration of goodwill, I will state my own. I am Ixis Naugus and I specialize in, of course, Ixian magicks. The focus of such being the control and transformation of the four elements: air, water, fire and earth. I am a master of all four as well as a fifth of my own making, the transformation of matter into crystals nigh indestructible.

Ah, my mistake. Much in the same I wouldn't care to be called a shaman. I am not in-tune with the elements so much as I manipulate and replicate them.

When do you think would be the best time to consult you? On matters of the dead?

That depends on what it is you wish to know. [And what Sabriel is willing to teach. In her own experience, there are some things people are happier not knowing when it comes to Death and the Dead.]

I suspect you may end up becoming the authority on matters pertaining to the departed, Ms. Sabriel, if no one else comes forward and admits a similiar talent.

Though, for the record, I hope someone does. It seems a lonesome craft, if I may be candid. The dead can't be much for company. And besides, I crave seeing the differences between all our respective crafts from one realm to the next.

They can be talkative, sometimes. [Sabriel's expression is torn between something approaching exasperation and her own attempt to remain as calm as possible.]

Keep in mind that many people have their reasons for being secretive, particularly where magic is concerned. And the last person to ask for- well, actually he demanded- information about people's abilities was also the idiot [And Sabriel practically spits that word out.] who summoned what we're here to fight in the first place.

Was it the same Overlander who did in the last Emperor? Or have we had two strikes against us in terms of Foreigners doing the unthinkable?

But no, it wasn't the same person. The one who who summoned it has since vanished- presumably back to their own world.

This term seems to confuse your folk and I am beginning to suspect it is not universal. Overlanders are your sort; taller, no spines or scales or fur, pink or brown-skinned, an affinity for technology. What are you called where you come from?

May I ask who the other was that did the summoning?

Human. We're called human nearly everywhere.

I think his name was Khan, but it's been a while.

[The way he repeats it and mispronounces it the first few tries makes it clear he's never heard this term before, let alone spoken it. He nods once he thinks he's got it, even taking a moment to write it down.]

Human. There. Good to know! I will try to keep that in mind in the future. I apologize if I fall back on the term I've always known, however. I mean no disrespect.

Was he the only one thus far to speak the foe's name?

He's the only one I know of to speak its name outside of a warded location, and certainly the only one to speak the name openly over these devices.

What further damage could be done? I am not challenging the notion nor thinking of trying it. But if he has been summoned once, what would a further utterance of his name cause?

Right now, the barrier will keep it out of Keeliai and the turtle- to some degree, at least, unless someone speaks its name.

Besides, no one with any sense want to attract the Enemy's notice.

You say that, but it's already been done once.

Additionally, I feel this effort to gather other casters is teetering on the edge of failure. One felt it prudent to inform me that others have reasons to not speak on their talents, nor feel any inclination to cooperate with their fellow Foreigners.

I am officially frustrated with this endevour. Perhaps you would have better luck? Maybe I put people off.
