Fellow Foreigners of Keeliai, I ask that you indulge me in what could be a bit of census-taking!

In the interest of further defending this turtle and those who reside upon it, I wish to know and take note who among us are versed in magicks and similiar abilities. I feel it would suit our collective purpose better to have this information compiled, perhaps look into how our respective crafts interact or can be enhanced. Please, come forward, fellow casters; tell me your name and tell me your arts!

In the interest of fairness and demonstration of goodwill, I will state my own. I am Ixis Naugus and I specialize in, of course, Ixian magicks. The focus of such being the control and transformation of the four elements: air, water, fire and earth. I am a master of all four as well as a fifth of my own making, the transformation of matter into crystals nigh indestructible.

Swords and I have a complicated history.

Are these glamours or actual maintained illusions? I apologize for prying, but I am indeed curious! I have plenty of means to craft illusions of my own, but it's just a matter of shaping choice elements into a specified form and channeling the facade.

I have not heard the term 'glamour', so I cannot say.

Ah! A glamour, my lady, is more a disguise than an illusion. Cast and channeled like you would any other facade, but made to hide and alter your own appearances more than anything else. To hide identity or unseemly traits, or appear as someone else entirely.

I cannot say I have ever desired to hide my identity. It seems a low thing to do.

I'm sure you could imagine the spells being useful in SOME cases. Were you to be amongst a lot who care not for your race, or ask too many questions about your appearances. Or are a wanted criminal. A great deal of useful and justified applications!

This is much my own mindset, for the record. Why cover myself and hide what I am? I care not if my appearances confound, confuse or are ridiculed. I am unique and I take great pride in that fact.

All the same, however, I can still see glamours having their uses, were something to arise.

Exactly so! I imagine others would find such arts useful, but I have no interest in studying such when there is so much else to sorcery.

Ah, but we've gotten off track. So your talents lie in the manipulation and storage of energies. Storage of them leaving it so even laymen can utilize it. Are there limitations to the object used for storage?

I typically use small stones, such as may be held in the hand. There is... a technique to preparing them.

Is the technique involved or taxing? I wonder why you're not mass-producing these objects for the use of our non-magical allies. Assuming you are not, that is.

It is not taxing, but... I have not done so in some time. You see, for some several hundreds of years, sorcery within my home Empire was under some difficulty, and I had to study different techniques to apply it. Delicate workings were far more difficult and dangerous. It has been only recently before my death and arrival to this place that sorcery had returned to its prior state.

I had forgotten how useful flashstones are to those who do not have sorcery. Since it is unlikely any person here is sufficiently familiar with them to prematurely detonate them, they could be useful.
