[He thought a good night’s sleep would cure him from this weariness, but when he woke up in the room he remembered seeing in his dream well that was more than enough information to let him know this was real. It’s not the giant turtle that gets to him or even this sector with canals and fountains. No, it all reminds him of home. What gets him is him being drafted into some unknown war by some noble. That’s unreal. Maybe if he were a knight, it’d be different, but he discarded that idea some time ago.
Playing with the console he was taught how to use, he figured he may as well see if he can really transmit a message. If he was fooled, well, it’ll make him look like an idiot to anyone within an earshot of him. If he wasn’t, then this would be a good way to find some useful information.]
So, we’ve been brought here to fight a war, right? I’m sure that’s a question you’ve all heard lots of time from newbies like me. I get that, really, but shouldn’t I get some say in whether I want to fight? [His voice sounds weary, still tired from all this despite getting sleep. More or less finding displeasure in this situation.] Whatever, I’m stuck here, aren’t I? May as well do what I can. [Not that he sounds enthusiastic about this.]
Is there some sort of training facility around? I mean, if they want us to fight, we gotta keep up with our skills, right? If not, I’d love to have a sparring partner or two. [He grins at this point, excited at the thought of fighting otherworldy people. Are they strong? Can they actually put a scratch on him? If they can kick his ass then that’s even better. It’ll help Yuri get stronger.]
Also, I was told I needed to ‘find a job’. [He almost scoffs at this statement. The only jobs he’s had are guild jobs. Oh, and being a knight, but that didn’t go well.] I’m pretty handy with a sword and a spatula, so there’s my resume. [Cooking is even better because that gets him close to sweets to satiate his sweet tooth. He’d call that pretty even pay.]
Well, hope this went through. If not, then I probably made myself sound like an idiot trying. [He gives a lopsided grin, chuckling at the end as he’s trying to figure out how to send this and turn it off. After a few seconds of fumbling, he finally gets it.]

Sounds like they just put their hand in a box and pull out whatever they grab. Doesn't sound particularly useful.
[Oh, right manners. Yuri doesn't have those but he can play along.] Sounds good to me. I'm Yuri. Yuri Lowell.

[He shrugs with a smile. he isn't claustrophobic, but a little lying never hurt anybody with basic stuff.]
I figured handpicking the best of the best would win them a war. I say that and the war where I came from didn't exactly end that fast. Not sure if I'm lucky or not. Mine ends and then I get dragged into a new one. Go figure.
No other choice...so what the hell? Nothing better to do.
[Alvin is honestly surprised he gets a reply back. He'd of danced around his own name like it was some sort of crazy secret.]
What's your world like anyways? I'm assuming being on the back of a giant turtle isn't normal.
no subject
[Though stupid things like that is something he loves about camping. Even if it does get old after a few days.]
My world? Well, we might not have a city on top of a giant turtle, but we've got one on top of a giant flying monster. [This place doesn't surprise him at all. If the Krityan can live on a giant Entelexeia, then other people can live on a giant turtle. Hell, if he didn't know this was another world, he would've sworn this was an Entelexeia, too.]
no subject
[Note the harmless sarcasm. He's still reasonably sure he would prefer a tree...or...maybe a cute girl. Maybe camping wouldn't be so bad. He gives Yuri an eyebrow raise at the rest of what he has to say.]
So this is like a home away from home for you then. Lucky break. Can't say we have many giant monsters wandering around. This is a new kind of experience for me though I'll admit that it isn't so bad.
no subject
[He sees Alvin's sarcasm and raises it. Though to Yuri, anything's a bed if you try so he doesn't see why it's so bad to camp out.]
In a weird way, yeah. This Water Sector is like an overdone version of where I grew up and live now. While I personally didn't live on giant monsters, I can't complain. The people who live on the monster I talked about are actually an entirely different race from humans. They're kinda weird, but they're not too bad.
no subject
[Wouldn't that be something to have some tent set up somewhere? Regular ol' camping trip. His bed is starting to look real good right now.]
Yeah I at least have that in common with being put in the right place so to speak. The Metal Sector kinda does remind me of home...except not on the back of a giant monster.
[He tilts his head.]
They'd have to be different to want to live on a giant monster. I haven't known anybody to roll over one day and want that. Any benefits to that?
no subject
[Hey, hey, let's go have some fun! Yuri would love to teach someone about camping and what it's like not to have a real place to sleep!]
Different sectors, huh? Almost sounds like the Quarters back home. Not sure if I like it. [It's all too familiar of Zaphias, which would mean his Water Sector is likely the boonies. Still, he prefers the boonies.] And you'd want to live on a giant monster too if you wanted to separate yourself from humanity. Don't blame 'em in the least.
no subject
[Alvin is...so looking forward to that, Yuri. He's already packing his things as they speak.]
Oh, I wouldn't knock 'em in the least. From what I can see here, it's not a bad gig. Guess this isn't exactly being separated from humanity though. Maybe from all of our own destinies or fate or whatever.
[Not that he cares much for the whole fate thing.]
We didn't really have sectors like this...at least not actual distinctive ones like this place has. It could grow on me I guess. Not like we have a choice. My sector's okay.
no subject
Can't complain about mine, either. At least they tried to put us in places we'd be comfortable in. Really, aside from me being in the middle of something important, this wouldn't be so bad. [And really, it's not all that bad. For now, he really can't complain.]
no subject
[a.k.a. He is no longer saving the world...er...two worlds in a sense. That was already done. Now here he is again: in any world but his own.]
Guess there's nothing much we can really do about it though. Having a little breakdown over all of this would be pointless. I think my first order of business is going to be checking out the bar somebody told me about.
no subject
A bar doesn't sound like a bad idea. Haven't had a drink in some time, and now sounds like a good time.
no subject
[No that he's too pleased about that. That's what drinks are for though: To stave off the inevitable panic attack later on.]
Sure. Why not? Name the place to meet and I'm there.
no subject
[Right, this guy wants the new guy to find a place... um... well he at least knows where he lives.]
Would Water Sector building 1A have any meaning to you? Because that's the only place I know, and it's currently where I'm living.
no subject
[Alvin just wants to make sure that the new guy can find his way around. What better way to figure out the layout of this place? He listens to the instructions and nods.]
I know the place well enough. I passed by there the other day. Just sit tight. It won't take me too long to get there.
no subject
[He can sit tight and twiddle his thumbs for a bit. It's not like he has anything to do here anyway.]
action time c:
He holds up his hand in greeting when he spots Yuri.]
I knew I could trust the new guy on giving me some direction on where to go.
/o/
[He smiles though. Man, it's been a while since he had a drinking buddy, though. He had Flynn, but Flynn's not here and due to his title he really can't be seen drinking with someone like Yuri so casually right now. However, with all this world kidnapping whatever thing, he needs something.]
So, where's this bar we're going to? Or is it a restaurant? Not that it matters as long as it has edible food and decent beer.
no subject
[He'd argue semantics, but it doesn't bother him. He gestures with his head in the direction they need to go in.]
I know of one in the Fire Sector. Not much of a walk. It' one way to get acquainted with your new surroundings. The bar itself I haven't been in myself yet, but I hear it's the talk of the turtle.
no subject
[Hopefully no bar fights will happen, but leave it to Yuri to start one if someone pisses him off. At least he has more self control now than he did as a young knight.
Casually walking and looking forward, he speaks--]
So what brings you to invite a new guy like me to a bar? Sounds like you've been in need of a drinking buddy for some time.
no subject
If I remember correctly, I mentioned that I needed to find a bar and you indirectly invited yourself. Who am I to turn down somebody willing to go along with me? Drinking alone is a real bore.
