Well someone here has completely dropped the ball. I know there are at least a few people around who are rich and Earth-savvy enough to get everyone presents for the month. Maybe celebrate the break from so much cold or the coming of good fortune or something like that. We could use a celebration right about now.

At the very least, I'll try to do my part. [Tony gives the network a winning smile and holds up a small, strange-looking flower playfully. It almost makes the next part sound more like a joke than any real offer.] I've got a few too many of these, so if anyone would like to take them off my hands, I'll be happy to give you a discount.

[Asking for help from Emma requires that he at least start by standing his ground. The way her pride goes, if he doesn't do that he won't get anywhere. It's strategic annoyance.

And maybe a little bit fun.]

And I intend to exploit both of those traits as long as you'll let me. I'll make it worth your while.

[Which is true. He knows better than to ask favors that won't benefit her. He teases because he can. It's a rare privilege.]

Look at it this way: you've probably never done it before.

[Which is totally a selling point. Tony does show up with a couple of swizards, more because he can than anything else, but there is an element of keeping up appearances. And for that matter, if they aren't on perfect terms with each other, then what he's about to ask her won't be as obvious.]

They're friendly for the most part. [He gives Emma a look over.] Since you're all dressed up, I guess I need to impress you.

Well, if I'm going to be falling off a giant lizard, I might as well be dressed for it.

[Dubious though she is about lizard-riding, she does greet him with a kiss on the cheek. All is forgiven for Civil War, or at least she's going to act like it is.]

[Despite his performance for the network, he looks much more composed and official when he actually shows up. He's even dressed up to see her--knowing that Emma won't tolerate poor appearance, he has to take the extra step--and he handles the greeting with a graceful return kiss of his own. To her hand, like a good lap dog.]

They'll behave perfectly. I promise. There's something I wanted to ask you, but we're probably better off away from curious bystanders.
