[Victor is looking straight into the camera; he's got nothing to hide, after all. He seems fairly nonchalant about being here, and he mostly is, except for a couple of concerns about people he's left behind. Sure, giant turtle cities are pretty weird as alternate dimensions go, but he can cope. At least people seem to be friendly enough, and it does sound like his help might be needed.]

Hey. My name's Victor, and I just got here, so I thought I'd say hi and see who else is here. I, uh, don't think many people will recognise me, unless my friends turned up as well and I just didn't see them. Mostly I'm looking for a couple of kids called Molly and Klara, so if anyone sees them can they let me know?

[He shrugs, and looks down at the console itself, now looking a little confused.]

Anyone know how these consoles work? I usually do okay with technology, but I can't even tell what these are made of. I don't want to mess around with them if I don't know if I can read the code... if they even run on code.

[He'll avoid mentioning why he's usually good with technology, though. He's not sure what kind of prejudices people even have here, and cyborgs usually make people a little uncomfortable even at home. He looks up again suddenly, having just remembered something.]

Speaking of which, I'm meant to find a job, apparently. Anyone know anyone who needs a mechanic or an electrician? I'm not officially trained, but I'm good for an amateur and I pick things up pretty quickly.

...[She's quiet for a second, because this seems like a dramatically inappropriate question, but she's been stewing on the whole Kraven thing for a year and here's someone who seems like they might at least kind of get it. Besides, she's already been too open with the guy, why not go further?] Did you kill him?

[There's an awkward question to answer, and Victor's not sure he wants to answer it publicly with the exact truth, so there's another pause on his end of the conversation too, and some very carefully worded sentences.]

Not in the end, no. Me and my friends were fighting him, but he kicked our asses hard. Someone else stepped in and took him apart.

[He shrugs.]

I wanted to, at the time. Not sure I would now, but he's the kind of guy who doesn't stay down so I might find out one day.

Yeah.

[She shifts around on the video feed, feeling like she should respond to that but without an idea how.]

[He's not good at interpreting awkward silences, but he can try.]</small< Uh, if you ever want to talk, it might be easier off the grid. I mean, if you're okay with that.

Sure. I guess. We can start a support club.

[Her face contorts. It's meant as a joke, but after carrying all this for a year... it does sound nice.]

Hey, any time. It's not like I'm massively busy at the moment. I'm in the bit of the city that's mostly trees, which I gotta say is pretty weird.

[He half-smiles, slightly self-conscious. And even if she does mean it as a joke, it can't hurt to make some friends whilst he's here.]

Yeah. Everything here is pretty weird. You'll get used to it.

[She smiles back for half a second before she turns more serious.] It might seriously be a good idea. For all we know, Mister Bad Dude himself might show up tomorrow and we'll all have to fight him to death. It'd be good to have a clear head for that.

It's going to take a lot of getting used to. You're probably right, though. I've been getting pretty familiar with strange new situations recently, so this is just another one to get used to.

[He shrugs.]

[Ava takes a minute to change into her costume and then she's leaping across the rooftops and through the city to get to the dojo. She unmasks as soon as she's close -- her identity hasn't been secret here in months. The tiger getup is just because it's what she feels most comfortable jumping around.] Hello?

[Victor's stood outside the dojo, hands shoved into pockets. He's hard to miss in his bright orange hoodie. He does take one hand out of his pocket to wave, though.]

Yo. Ava, right?

So. Parents who got murdered. How about that. [Totally not awkward segue, right?]

Uh, yeah. That's a thing.

[Okay, so the assortedly shaped people who might go by might not care. Victor's more bothered.]

Is there somewhere here that isn't a street? I don't think this is a middle of the street conversation.

Yeah. We could go inside, or hang out in one of the alleys in back. Depends on if you'd rather risk students overhearing or criminals interrupting us.

Criminals probably won't be a massive problem as long as there's not huge amounts of them.

Yeah. [She nods towards a nearby alley and makes her way there, plopping down to sit cross-legged when she arrives.]

[He leans against a wall nearby, arms crossed.]
