[Victor is looking straight into the camera; he's got nothing to hide, after all. He seems fairly nonchalant about being here, and he mostly is, except for a couple of concerns about people he's left behind. Sure, giant turtle cities are pretty weird as alternate dimensions go, but he can cope. At least people seem to be friendly enough, and it does sound like his help might be needed.]
Hey. My name's Victor, and I just got here, so I thought I'd say hi and see who else is here. I, uh, don't think many people will recognise me, unless my friends turned up as well and I just didn't see them. Mostly I'm looking for a couple of kids called Molly and Klara, so if anyone sees them can they let me know?
[He shrugs, and looks down at the console itself, now looking a little confused.]
Anyone know how these consoles work? I usually do okay with technology, but I can't even tell what these are made of. I don't want to mess around with them if I don't know if I can read the code... if they even run on code.
[He'll avoid mentioning why he's usually good with technology, though. He's not sure what kind of prejudices people even have here, and cyborgs usually make people a little uncomfortable even at home. He looks up again suddenly, having just remembered something.]
Speaking of which, I'm meant to find a job, apparently. Anyone know anyone who needs a mechanic or an electrician? I'm not officially trained, but I'm good for an amateur and I pick things up pretty quickly.

[Rictor shrugs.]
Not that the other one sounds much different, but I don't know if he's gotten around to finding a new way to register mutants. Why'd he wreck your place?
no subject
[He sounds a little bitter about the registration act, with some reason.]
We didn't get to ask. I guess it was probably something to do with foster care, though, or something like that.
no subject
Foster care. [He thinks about the sad sack orphanage that Layla was in. Yeah. Foster care would be a great place for a kid worried about the Registration act.] He's an idiot.
no subject
[He's still not sure he'd have actually even been considered for foster care, or if they'd have just shut him down. He looks sideways, but then curiosity hits and he looks back. If this guy's from his world, maybe he's someone back there.]
Oh, yeah. Sorry, I didn't catch your name.
no subject
And that's because I didn't throw it out there. I'm Julio Richter. You ever do any work on a motorcycle?
no subject
[And quiet. He's so not used to quiet. He doesn't recognise the name, but that's not entirely unexpected.]
Petrol engine? I can probably tell you if something's up with the frame or anything like that, but I'm not sure about the actual engine.
no subject
I might have a job for you, if you want something while you look for a real one. I think it's out of alignment.
[Or it will be, in a few minutes.]
no subject
I can look, if you want. Like I said though, I'm not pro and if it's anything complicated or not-Earth-standard I can't make promises.
[And he should probably be a little more suspicious about this, but at the end of the day he can probably get out of most bad situations, and this has all been pretty public, so it shouldn't be that unsafe, right?]
no subject
Maybe your friends will show up. If you know Tony Stark, there's been others that know him too.
[Some suspicion wouldn't hurt, on both accounts, but Ric is counting on two things. One, Tony doesn't get along with lots of people from the looks of it, and, two, he can take a teenager.]
It's your Earth-standard chopper. [And he won't break it in a way that he can't fix.]
no subject
Yeah. Someone I... know from back home already said hi, and one of her team-mates is here too, so I'm not completely alone at least.
[There's a brief hesitation on the know, because he's not sure if he should be using the past tense. Also, not the entire truth.]
In which case, uh, if you give me directions I can look at it whenever you're free. Nothing else came up yet, anyway.

I live at EA-1C. If a hot Monégasque chick answers the door, it's still the right place.

Potentially a switch to action?
[And with that, he'll turn off the console.
He's got a girl to meet first, but after that he might as well go see what's up with this bike, so it's probably mid-late afternnon by the time he turns up. He's a little nervous about knocking, honestly, but he was invited, so it'll be fine, right?]
action
Julio answered the door in due time, stepping inside as he waved the boy inside.] Come on in. I've got tools you can use somewhere in this mess.
no subject
That's okay, got some with me. They're like the only thing I own right now, though, so if you're going to mug me or something it's really not worth it.
no subject
I'm not about to mug a kid for his Gameboy. Calm down.
[The teen has a right to be suspicious though. He certainly would be, were he in similar shoes. Ric doesn't recognize him at all. With that, he steps past Victor and outside.]
The bike's out here. How'd you pick up mechanics, anyway? If the words "I read it online" come out of your mouth, you aren't touching the motorcycle."
no subject
Sorry. Guess it didn't come across as a joke.
He shrugs.]
Hands-on experience? I used to keep the team vehicle going back home. First few times it had to tell me what was up, but I pick things up fast. And when I say I'm good with machinery, I mean in a powers sort of way, so touching it is pretty much exactly what I need to do.
no subject
[He was mildly interested before, but now Victor is the recipient of a prolonged, searching look. There are a few people - Doug Ramsey, Forge, even 'Star to an extent - that he'd expect a statement like that from. Hearing it from a kid who's not on any team that Ric knows about is disconcerting. Five minutes ago, he'd have told you he knew them all.]
You guys got an SUV or something?
[Please tell him they're not giving out Blackbirds to teenagers now.]
no subject
Not exactly.
[He scratches the back of his head, trying to work out how to word things.]
My friends' parents aren't around any more, but they left a lot of tech behind. Including the vehicle we used to get around. It was some weird mix of modern tech and future science, but it wasn't difficult to work out most of the time, and I was the only tech guy on the team, so.
no subject
What team is this again?
[It's nonchalant, as he brings the motorcycle, complete with damaged frame, over. He points out the crack in one of the support bars.] It snapped when I hit a pothole.
[OOC note: work with me here, I know nothing about motorcycles. /waves hands around. "Make it work!" /tim gunn]
no subject
[He sighs.]
Look, you know anything about Los Angeles?
[He eyes the bike slightly dubiously, not entirely sure what he's doing, but the easiest way to do things is still to just do his usual thing and touch the bike, powers firmly on. He's pretty low on juice from the summon, but this is only a small use anyway.
Of course, he is sparking around the eyes, and his hand where he's touching the bike. Some things can't be avoided, even if they might be slightly alarming.]
That doesn't feel like normal wear and tear. Someone got a problem with your bike, dude? Also, one of the brakes isn't really calibrated properly and the clutch is getting a bit worn, and I can't even tell you how I know what a clutch is
[OOC note: Neither do I. Then again, technically neither does Victor. we will make it work anyway!]
