[Victor is looking straight into the camera; he's got nothing to hide, after all. He seems fairly nonchalant about being here, and he mostly is, except for a couple of concerns about people he's left behind. Sure, giant turtle cities are pretty weird as alternate dimensions go, but he can cope. At least people seem to be friendly enough, and it does sound like his help might be needed.]

Hey. My name's Victor, and I just got here, so I thought I'd say hi and see who else is here. I, uh, don't think many people will recognise me, unless my friends turned up as well and I just didn't see them. Mostly I'm looking for a couple of kids called Molly and Klara, so if anyone sees them can they let me know?

[He shrugs, and looks down at the console itself, now looking a little confused.]

Anyone know how these consoles work? I usually do okay with technology, but I can't even tell what these are made of. I don't want to mess around with them if I don't know if I can read the code... if they even run on code.

[He'll avoid mentioning why he's usually good with technology, though. He's not sure what kind of prejudices people even have here, and cyborgs usually make people a little uncomfortable even at home. He looks up again suddenly, having just remembered something.]

Speaking of which, I'm meant to find a job, apparently. Anyone know anyone who needs a mechanic or an electrician? I'm not officially trained, but I'm good for an amateur and I pick things up pretty quickly.

No-one actually mentioned that bit before, but I guess it makes sense. Uh, how many of them have you melted?

[Does that make them cyborg consoles? In which case, he's not sure he wants to try and take one apart. He hesitates, before carrying on.]

Computers, if they're not weird magic cyborg constructs. I don't think I get to be picky, though, so basically, as long as it's metal and it's technological in nature, I can usually cope with most things.

Three. One shortly after my arrival and the other two later. They take two to four weeks to grow back, so I've become familiar with the cafes in my sector. The melting is a defense mechanism, according to the previous Emperor, but one that's been overridden once before. Although she was unwilling to let me do the same.

( And now that Emperor is dead, so Shockwave's found that means of gaining information impossible to further pursue. Which is a shame, really. )

Wayne Enterprises has its own branch for technological research, headed by myself and Jor-El. I'm certain if you asked after Bruce Wayne he would gladly take you on.

That's a pretty disturbing defence method. Still, I guess almost anything can be hacked eventually, so maybe it's the safest option.

[And at least they do grow back, he supposes. Score one for organic technology.]

I don't actually know who that is, but if I do see him, I'll remember it. Thanks for the tip, though.

Mm. ( There's something that Shockwave is visibly not saying - mouth turned down for a moment or two before continuing on. ) You're welcome. I'd hire you, but I believe he likes to keep track of everyone using his facilities.

Yeah, that makes sense. I mean, I could be anyone right now.

Huh? Why would I comment on the name? I've heard weirder code-names back home.

[He'll just... not mention that there's a villainous Shockwave back home as well, because that's a guy and this isn't.]

Well, we do let people keep their secrets so long as they agree to working towards the betterment of life on the turtle.

( It's not as if Shockwave isn't hiding something. Like being 30 ft of living machinery. But-- )

[Victor's a little flustered and awkward now, looking sideways to something off-screen.]

Yeah, still kind of not the smartest thing I've done today. And I've done a lot of dumb things today.

[He shrugs, though, because if the apology is accepted that's fine.]

I'm sorry, but I haven't heard of any Molly or Klara.

No, that's fine. Apparently there's some here but they're not the right ones, so I guess it's fine. Time won't pass back home, so they can't get into too much trouble. Even if I wouldn't put it past Molly to find a way.

Time may not pass for you, but I've noticed there can be worrying gaps in time between one person and another who's ended up here from the same universe.

( like four million years, but hey. )

[It's only a couple of months for him, but dead people turning up alive is nice but slightly awkward.]
