[The water at Alkali Lake is cold. The water surrounding this damn turtle isn't any better. Logan is freezing his perfectly sculpted buns off when the Kedan haul him out of the water and is thankful when they drop this itchy blanket on him. He doesn't sleep on his way to his suite and about 95% of what the Kedan tell him about his new residence is dismissed as irrelevant. He's not planning to stick around long.

Once he's home, the Kedan give him a fresh set of the local threads and Logan's still thankful. Even more so when they're finally gone. He takes a few moments to take a look around his suite. The console is the last thing he approaches and it takes a few tries but he finally manages to get the thing working.

The camera begins to record and it captures Logan glaring in the lens.]

I don't give a damn who you people think you are. Send me back. Now.

[And this is about the time John would tell Logan to be nice.]

[That... could be bad. Or it could be Wolverine being an asshole. In her world, it's hard to tell. Her smile turns into a faint frown.]

Yeah. The X-Men? [She says it like only a dunce wouldn't catch the reference.] Come on, Wolverine, don't tell me you're batting for the other team. Again.

[Logan doesn't like this. Nobody knows about that Wolverine thing. He frowns and tucks his dog tags under his shirt.]

Listen to me, lady, I don't know what an X-Men is. I don't know you and you don't know me. Better leave it at that.

Great.

[There's a shadow of frustration there as she looks away.]

Just great. I'm here for two months and the first person I know doesn't even know me. That's really lame, you know.

[That's directed back at him with a flat look.]

And, no. Why bother leaving it at that? I don't know what's wrong with you, but we're supposed to be teammates. Maybe you're just... [She makes a vague, irritated gesture.] ...from before my time.

[Teammates? What? Logan hasn't been part of a 'team' since he walked away from the X-Force six years ago. Was she just making this up to mess with him? Maybe this is all a terrible hallucination brought on by the bonding procedure. Or is she just a subordinate sent to hunt him down?]

You one of Stryker's?

No. [She scoffs the word and her disbelief at his ignorance is evident.] One of Xavier's. [She pauses.] This isn't some Weapon X PTSD flashback that you're having, is it?

Never heard of him. [And you know, spouting off this stuff about Weapon X isn't helping her case.] Who are you?

[Ororo leans back in her chair, arms now crossed as she officially pouts. This is a serious bummer.]

Ororo? Ororo Munroe? [She pauses, then rolls her eyes.] You know. Storm?

[Logan cracks a small smile. Until he realizes she's serious. Oh. Okay.]

Sorry. Never met a...Storm before.

[At least his humour's intact, even if his memories are a bust. Her mouth shifts to a brief, thin-lipped smile.]

You will.

So, when are you from then? Maybe this is one of those screwed up time-travel things people have talked about.

[Logan's not entirely willing to answer this question, especially from a perfect stranger. Still, this Storm woman knows enough about him that she's either telling the truth or...she's not. They're not even in the same vicinity, so he can't tell which. She doesn't seem particularly threatening though. So maybe he can get away with being vague and still have his curiosity sated.]

I'm looking for Victor Creed. And William Stryker.

[Yeah super vague. When is any version of Logan not looking for Victor Creed?]

Creed?

[There's recognition in her voice and it's not at all fond.]

You mean the psycho from the Weapon X program? He's not here, thank God.

[Logan gives her a look. It's a mix of 'what the hell are you talking about' and...no it's mostly 'what the hell are you talking about.']

Creed wasn't involved with Weapon X.

[Well not directly. He's the reason Logan agreed to it. But that was 100% Stryker.

She's looking more untrustworthy by the second.]

[Nice to know that the guy that castrated Creed in an attempt to break the X-Men out of the Weapon X program doesn't... remember doing it.]

Yeah, sure he wasn't. I'm sure it was just some guy that looked a lot like him walking up and down the cells, taunting us.

[It's a flat, dry statement that she follows up with a sigh.]

Maybe you don't know the Creed I know. It's not like this turtle's in the habit of reuniting any of us with people we know.

[okay lady, Logan doesn't know what kind of scam you're trying to run here but he doesn't like it. Stop claiming to know him if you're not gonna get the facts right.]

Lady, there wasn't anyone else.

[That he saw anyway. He must be forgetting Weapon XI. Because Logan wants to be a special snowflake.]

[Ororo frowns, an eyebrow raising up.]

Logan, I was there. I was part of it.

[Sure, she didn't WANT to be, but that's something else entirely.]

[Logan falls silent. She keeps insisting she was there. Did she hear how Stryker wanted to take his memories? Steal his DNA? Was she in on the conspiracy and Logan just hadn't noticed her before? Her insistence wasn't helping in getting him to trust her. Maybe Xavier is just a fake identity. Logan has no way of confirming her story.]

Fine. You tell Stryker or Xavier or whoever, if he wanted the animal? He's got it.

[Ororo's not sure how to take that, but the words themselves are close to some threat's she's heard Logan utter.]

Right.

[She draws the word out slowly.]

If that's a threat, try again. First, Xavier's not here. Second, I'm not a messenger.

Trust me, lady, it ain't a threat.
