[Hawke doesn't like these consoles. In fact he doesn't much like anything more technologically advanced than say, a crossbow. Unfortunately this city is full of gadgets and gizmos he doesn't understand. Nilin helped show him just how vastly out of his league he is when it comes to such things. If he's going to be here for the long haul though, he needs to adapt. To adapt, he'll need some help.]

So who here has any know-how with these console things? I'm tired of barely knowing what I'm doing with this thing. There's already enough things in this city that make me feel stupid. I don't need one more.

[And after a certain encounter he doesn't trust his fellow Foreigners as much as he once did. Plus it might be helpful to know these things when you're in the smuggling business.]

And does anyone know anything about mind control? More specifically on how to stop it?

[If that summoner is the least bit competent he'll be able to piece this together easily. The thought doesn't bother Hawke. Let him think Hawke is scared, but he doesn't make the mistake of underestimating people. One of the reasons he comes out alive after all his battles.]

I've wandered this area before, and your directions were simple enough to follow.

[Read: She's been snooping around the turtle a bit. Nilin likes to know her surroundings. Her gaze moves from Hawke to Notch.]

Hello you.

[His eyebrow quirks up and he grins playfully at her.]

You're not stalking me are you? Because that would be great.

[Notch barks in greeting before bumping his head against her thigh affectionately. Hawke takes a step back to allow her in the suite.]

Come on in.

[Without even thinking, she puts a hand on Notch's head before following him inside.]

You'd be the first to think as much.

[Notch's tail wags furiously as she pets him and as Nilin and Hawke step inside the suite he follows after both of them.]

Even better, I love being the first at something.

[He leads her into the house and it's sparse to say the least. Hawke hasn't added much to the basic furniture already in the house beyond. In fact the bottom floor has seen no change at all. It appears he's made no attempt to personalize his living space.]

So, just how hopeless am I?

[Her home is much the same. Nilin's got three floors to her place and she's barely added anything to it. It's simple and has what she needs, but she doesn't plan on staying any longer than she must. No sense in getting too settled or attached.

His place is quite different to hers though and it's interesting to see the place from the inside.]

You're doing well enough for someone that hasn't been around this level of technology since birth.

This isn't what I'm used to either.

[This suite is simply a place for him to sleep. He doesn't plan on making it nice and cozy. It's not supposed to be his home. The pool is nice though. His next place should have one.]

I hit a button to turn it on and another to actually use it. That much I can do.

[That's a nice smile. Have a playful smirk in return Nilin.]
