[To say things had been weird since Wan arrived would be a massive, massive, massive understatement. Several hours of just plain weird. He was finally at the house he'd apparently been assigned and it was nice.

...really nice. Nicest place he'd ever had a chance to sleep in.

But that wasn't why he was at the terminal, using it for the first time. No. He had weird things to ask about.]

H-hello.

[Wan gave an awkward wave.]

I'm new here and I was told I could use this to find out information if I had any questions. I have a few. They're about the turtle that found me and this strange feeling I've been having since I woke up. They're unrelated. The turtle was giving me a strange feeling, but I got that one sorted out.

Anyway, first about the turtle. Her name is Rio'era. She wanted to come home with me, but the home I was given was not the home she wanted to go back to. I mean, I can find her anywhere with the spiritual connection she's given me, but I- I'm not getting to the point. I just wanted to know if that was normal?

A turtle the size of a small house calling out to you when you get here and all that. The people that introduced me to the computers didn't mention anything about smaller turtle spirits doing that. They only mentioned the giant turtle spirit we're all living on right now.

The other question I have is about this strange feeling of... well, I'm not sure. It's like I can feel myself in two other places, but I can't pinpoint those places. I can just feel them. Out there.

Floating around.

[Wan quieted, trying to remember if there was anything else.]

Oh! I'm supposed to find a job! I've never had one in a human city before! So that's pretty exciting. If I can get one. How do I get one? Is there a place I can volunteer to go hunting outside the city or something? Cause I've done that before... sort of.

[Whoops. Korra mentally scolded herself for forgetting that just the term Avatar was foreign to him.]

The Avatar State, it's the glow. [She closed her eyes, only to reopen them to show him what she meant. After a few seconds, the light faded so it was just her blue eyes again.]

Looks like I still have a lot to tell you about the Avatar.

Raava.

[Wan whispered her name, voice awed. Even if he had not known anything about Korra before that moment, he would have recognized the Spirit of Light and Peace shining forth from her eyes. He wondered idly if, when Raava bonded with him, he looked half as beautiful as Korra had in that moment.

He didn't really hear the rest of what she said, lost as he was in the sight of her lit up with Raava's power despite it having faded from her eyes already.]

[Seeing Wan's face, barely catching what he said, Korra instantly felt guilt for being the Avatar that lost the bond from Raava and for her nearly being destroyed. She shied not even a millimeter back and rubbed her arm, averting her eyes.]

Yeah, that's the Avatar State. But do you know what I mean now when I say Aang's blocked off from it?

[Wan's face fell and he felt suddenly very sad for Aang. Raava was so important to him now that imagining life without her at least near him, if not within him, was impossible for Wan.]

He can't touch Raava. He can't call on her for help when he needs it. What happened to him?

He- he got attacked by lightning; Aang almost died. But I was able to save him. I'm trying to see about helping him get past that block, but it's not easy.

[She looked back up to him and eased her posture so her hands were at her sides again.]

He doesn't like to talk about it too much.

I can understand why.

[He'd be reluctant to talk about something like that. It would hurt too much.]

...do you know how I can contact him? Maybe using the Computers to speak like we did earlier? I think... I should be the one to introduce myself to him.

[Computers. Korra couldn't but grin at that. It was kind of cute and she couldn't fault him since it's his first day. Her words started with a small laugh.]

Yeah, the consoles make it so you can talk to one specific person. If you want to meet him though, your best bet in finding is at the turtle's head.

He goes there often? How often?

Let's just say if he's not there or at the hospital, then he's probably asleep in his suite.

Okay. I'll definitely look for him there, then. I don't want to disturb him if he's sleeping. How long do you think it will take for him to heal fully?

[Korra pressed her lips together, tightly enough that they turned white before she spoke.]

I don’t know. He’ll have the scar forever, but I will figure out how to unblock the twisted energy in his back. [Of course she doesn’t like that she might end up hurting him to do it, but Korra was running out of ideas.]

Scars fade. Being blocked off from Raava, from a part of himself... Anything you do to help, I think will be good for him. Thank you.

[Wan crossed his arms, hugging himself for a moment before reaching out to touch her shoulder and smiling faintly.]

For today, too.

[Nothing could compare to hearing that from him of all people. In a way, Korra was helping all of them and they would do the same because that’s who they are. She nodded and gave an honest smile; free from sarcasm.]

You’re welcome. I’m at Jin-Hao in Metal if you need anything. [She inclined her hand and off-handedly added.] My home’s always open to my friends.

I'll visit once I've gotten to know the city better. I think I'd like to go, though. There's a lot to think about. And talk to Raava about.

[He needed time.]

[With how much she just threw at him, Korra couldn't blame him for needing time to think. Meeting the first Avatar? Korra actually needed some time as well.]

[He said it quickly as he started to head out.]

Just... Wan.

[She actually giggled.]
