This is the story you wanted to write, well tonight is the night that you can...

[The same stern and properly buttoned up Enjolras appears on everyone's screens again, but there is something a little different about the man than only that, a spark of something in his gaze. It is not the same brand of happiness that he's displayed in many of his postings here, but it is something of a flame regardless, as tiny as it may be. He's clearing his throat and leaning in a little, waiting a few moments before proceeding.]

It has occurred to me that we have many people of talent here whose skills are being underused, or perhaps not used at all, and many important goings on around us that deserve to be addressed in the right fashion. True, we have the radio program, but there is likely still more that can be done in regard to the sharing of information. In short,

[And here, that spark that's not entirely dead seems to be growing in his eyes, just a little. Perhaps it is no longer the blue of ice, but the blue of fire as well. At any rate, it is there, and open for anyone watching to note.]

Tu Vishan has many stories, and, of equal importance, just as many storytellers gathered here. I think that it is time we work to follow these stories as they happen, to report the goings on around these stories, and, perhaps most importantly, to be a voice for all the foreigners settled here, no matter how long or short their time has been.

In short...In short, I would propose that we begin a newspaper, with the intent of focusing on all events from the foreigner's eye. We would provide information to our readers, gather it, and report and compile all that we have seen with our own eyes.

Ideally, given that language is something of an issue given we are all from different places, I would also suggest that translators are welcome along with our reporters, so that our news might reach everyone, regardless of the languages they read and write. The last thing I would wish is to exclude anyone from our endeavor.

If anyone is interested in doing this, in creating a paper and witnessing and reporting history here as it is made, I would certainly welcome you to join me on Thursday evening, starting around six o'clock in the Earth sector's largest cafe where we might discuss organization, our approach to others, and the sort of work we will need to get started.

I do hope as many of you as possible who would be interested in this are able to join me for what I hope will be quite an exciting venture.

I'm not exactly a journalist, but I'm totally interested. I might be able to do some sketches or something, or maybe some little articles.

That would be wonderful on any account, really.

So.. Who are you and why are you starting a newspaper?

[Well, mostly, although Enjolras isn't consciously aware of the fact, it's because he suddenly has a LOT of time on his hands and a need to have something outside of his hospital shifts to do. They kick him out after so long there, even when he says that he is fine to keep working, and the other several hours of the day find him needing distractions now, more than he can reasonably simply find at home. But, well, in his eyes, things are a little different than that.]

Ah, well, I started having the thought back around the time that the network itself was compromised. There is the radio, yes, but print information is, has always been, rather near and dear to me. I worked with Le National, one of our city papers in Paris, for a time, and I rather missed the work here. And I've found a good number of stories and people here are seeming to be unnoticed where a paper might fill that gap.

[Oh, and he's forgotten introductions, hasn't he, well then.]

And I am Enjolras, from Paris, over a year ago, now.

[Hayley unknowingly understand that sentiment all too well. She works at Wayne Enterprises, Stark Industries, and has recently returned to the radio. The newspaper will just be another thing to add to the list of skills she'll forget when she returns home. If she returns home.]

Paris? That's awesome. Say something in French!

[She grins. It's one of the truly teenage moments she allows herself.]

Hayley, from the United States, also over a year.

[Hopefully with any luck, she'll have SOMETHING to take back with her. It's a great exercise in constructing and bending reality to the things that people wish to hear, after all. Or it can be when it's a subtle machination.

Enjolras does have to grin at the girl's enthusiasm there. Those sorts of things are good to see, after all.]

And I've just said I am pleased to meet you and living in the Earth Sector.

[Enjolras is still no better at handling girls than he was at home, a year ago. Ah well, at least he's not starring at this one terrified, right?]

I would be glad to do something like that, yes. I HAVE been struggling with English writing. The translations here can make that much easier, but the practice and review would be good for me as well.

[Well, he DID promise at the hospital that he would work on it. Which was...a good few months ago in which he's done nothing about that. Oops. There are many reasons he was still in law school after several years, and that sort of work ethic applied to things that confuse him without immediate payoff is one of them. His torts professors likely wept, honestly.]

Ah, that IS still a question while I am finding those who would be interested.

It's a deal then. You teach me some french and I'll help you with your english.

What languages do you want?

[There IS something magical about their ability to induce happiness and productivity, really.]

Ah well, as many as possible, though I'd hoped to have it available for all of the major languages spoken here. English seems taken care of thankfully, but Chinese, certainly, seems to be used by several people here and I've enough Latin and Greek should those be an issue, though something has me doubting it.

I think perhaps a poll as to the languages people here speak would be useful before getting started.

[Enjolras is rather assuming that is an example of Chinese then, because he's actually not seen anything written down in it before, or heard more than a few words of it really.]

That is excellent. And yes, I should get on to that.

For the moment, I will keep you updated. I've yet to secure an office and test the equipment and such. It can be done, it will just need a bit of negotiating and then I should be able to tell you much more.

Will that work for now?

I can beat them up until they give you some.

I ah...can keep that in mind? I doubt that violence will be necessary.

This will probably sound a bit like forcing you into things, and I hardly mean to do that.

[This being Enjolras, he really DOES hate that sort of thing, actually.]

But I think, if you are willing, you might want to find a way to tell him. If you can do all that you've told me just now, I think, maybe, you would be a great help in the war is all.

Not that I am not glad to have you work with us as well.

[ River's pretty unsure about this... most of the people she hangs around with in Keeliai aren't the Emperor's biggest fans. ]

What if he's like the Alliance?

[Enjolras is not a fan persay, but he does trust, for now, that Evandu knows what he is doing, at least. It is a necessary evil at the moment,as far as he is concerned, and so far, it does not look as though harm has come to any of the others here. Though, mention of this Alliance is new, and his gaze is thoughtful as she mentions this.]

I am afraid I do not know of this Alliance. Have they tried to use your abilities then?

[ But now River's getting rather uncomfortable looking and only nods, as if not trusting herself to speak. ]

[That is certainly enough for Enjolras, who is giving River a somewhat tight nod of his own. It is nothing more than he expected to have confirmed, of course, but any other reminder that humanity has not progressed is maddening. Any reminder that an individual has been hurt by those who have not managed it is something else again.]

In that case, then, I think that I should do rather what you are. Being wary. I did not mean to suggest that you...

I am sorry that I asked and I've upset you.

[ River nods, and she isn't upset with Enjolras. It's clear that even though she's the one who brought up the Alliance, that's what's the source of her discomfort and fear even though she's seen no evidence of them here. ]

No. If there is anything I might do here to help as well, to keep things safe for you, I am at your service, as well. [It is not much, but it is SOMETHING.]

Ah good then. This is starting to look towards falling together nicely.

[Even in his own century, he's kinda boring, sadly.] I've heard that a few times, I am afraid. It may be time to liven some things up then. Comic strips, those are like the cartoons that were sometimes run in papers, yes? Ours were largely political but any sort could work well if we could find someone to produce them. It would make for an interesting contribution and stronger final product.

Political cartoons?

[Yikes that sounds dull.]

Oh! And I can translate if you need someone to do Spanish, Russian, Japanese, or Romanian.
