Hello there! [Toul is smiling and waving her hand at that screen, moving forward and backward as if testing the way the video adjusted to her position.] I’ve never seen the like of this machine before, but it is quite amazing. To be able to record yourself as you are doing something like this is and let others see you in person is wonderful. I’ve never even heard of such a thing even from the big cities back home.

[Then she stops, ears flicking back and forth for a moment, thoughtful.] I believe I have been brought here for some purpose. I am not certain yet what that exact purpose is, but there is always a purpose to where we come to be, isn’t there? I can’t think of a reason I would be riding the back of a large turtle otherwise. [She laughs softly, because she thinks she is far more amusing than she probably really is.] I have heard there are Reptilia here who need help and I will do my best in whatever way you may need me to.

It is good to meet you all…whoever may be listening!

[And then her eyes widen just a bit before she reaches out and lightly raps the knuckles of her hand to the side of her head.] Oh, yes, how silly of me not even give you my name. Apologies! I am Keymaster Toul—ah well, Apprentice Keymaster, that is. If there is something you need of me, please do not be afraid to seek me out.

From hurting to healing and everything in between, but it's what people think should be done with mages that's the problem.

Should be done? What do you mean?

[This sounds very different from her world, where Mages are revered and seen as good soldiers and strong statesmen.]

Some people think they should never leave their Circle Towers, others think they all need to be made Tranquil, then you've got people who just want them dead, and after that there's a small few who actually want them free.

And that's just what my people think. I don't even want to go into what the Qunari do with theirs.

Hardly. [He says with a smile.] I haven't found a job in this place yet, so my days are mostly free.

[His actual work is gathering information, and he isn't going to do that just by staying in his suite. He knows very well that you can't just read and expect everything to come to you.]

Oh my, I had not even considered finding a job. [It completely slipped her mind.] I don't know if Keymasters are in great need here.

[Focus, Toul, you do have something else you were doing.]

Apologies, again, I let my mind get away from me for a moment. Could we meet at the Welcome Center? I believe we both know how to get there?

[The fact that Tranquil and 'dead' are used separately doesn't make the former seem less unfortunate. Who would use such a lovely word to mean something unpleasant?]

It does appear that magic is greatly misunderstood in your world. I am sorry for that. I do not know what my world would be like if the Mystic Arts did not exist.

Oh, I...think I understand. [Not really, but if it's an old legend, perhaps that is all there is to it.]

[He doesn't look all that troubled by her spacing out, if anything he looks amused.] Yes, getting there is rather easy. Should we meet there in an hour?

Sadly I don't know what a keymaster does, but if you wish you can explain it to me when we meet and we cold both try to find a suitable job.

An hour is more than reasonable. [She is very excited about getting to meet one of the turtles!] I've found Keymastering is unknown here, so it may be best to show you rather than try to explain.

[Really it's such a well known career in her world, that it's hard to explain it to those who do not know anything about it.]

Someone must be working to show people how much good magic can do.

[It's not even a question because she couldn't imagine it otherwise.]

Probably, though there are some better at it than others.

[He thinks back to the incident that chased him out of his home. It might be for the best to not tell her about that, or anyone for that matter.

Then his attitude shifts, becoming slightly more serious.]

My little sister is a mage. What do you think?

[Her happiness is kind of contagious, and Tavi looks just as happy to get to know a something new and interesting from a new world. No one seems to know much about furycrafting (no one but Septimus himself, that is) but they know plenty of other interesting abilities and he'll do his best to note all of them down.

Tavi will get there early, waiting as promised and looking for the girl. Luckily her cat-like features make identifying he easier.]

One hour! [She says it with some glee because this is really the best thing about finding herself in a new place. She had worried about Saxa until she's been told that time froze and she should return home after they saved the turtles. Now she was focused on learning everything she could and embracing the new state of her life. There was no point in being upset when she can try to use the situation to the best advantage she can.

When she gets to the Welcome Center she doesn't see Tavi at first until she realizes she walked up on the wrong side of the building. Then she hurried toward the front entrance.]

Hello! I'm sorry am I late?

Oh, I'm sorry for sounding so presumptuous... I shouldn't have asked that. [Not that she was presuming anything but asking questions can make anyone sound rude.]

I would certainly agree that not everyone who uses magic has um...the kindest of objectives, but magic itself works best when it is in the service of others and making the world better for all of us.

[It's Raphael that welcomes her, the only thing keeping him from tackling her being Tavi's hand in his shell.]

Don't worry about it, we did not fix an specific time after all. I hope getting here did not inconvenience you?

[She's surprised by the welcome from the turtle if only because he's so big and doesn't move his lips at all. It's unbelievable!]

Oh no, no it was fairly easy. [She only found herself off course once.] It's wonderful to meet you--both of you--in person this way.

[She brushes her hair back over her shoulder, which makes her ear twitch in the itchy way it always does. She can't help it.]

[Which makes Raphael suddenly really interested in her little animal-like ears. He's never seen something like that before, so he leans down to sniff at them. Tavi, on the other hand, is so used to the Canim this is only another oddity in a long list of them.]

It's a pleasure to meet yo- hey, hey! [He tries to hold his turtle back once he realizes what he's doing.] You stop that at once, she might feel uncomfortable with it.

But she's like a cat!

[She can't help the little jerk and the way her ears flatten down on her head, a bit startled but not upset. It itches or tickles really to have someone try to touch her ears.] It's all right. He was only trying to get to know me.

[She reaches out to put a hand on the turtle's beak.] You are the curious sort, I take it.

[Hawke shrugs his shoulders, not looking bothered in the least.]

Trust me I've dealt with worse.

[Sometimes from his own friends.]

Probably, but that means a lot of different things to a lot of different people. So long as no one is summoning demons or sacrificing people I've got no problem with it.

[Tavi doesn't seem fully convinced, since he reacted way worse to his first turtle invading his personal space. But she guesses if she wanted the turtle to back off she'd have said so by now.]

I like knowing about new things. [Raphael says, trying to come across as apologetic but he doesn't really sounds sorry.] Do you have a tail as well?

Summoning...? [Toul can't help the little bit of self-conscious laughter here because what he said may not fit exactly it still...]

Well I would hope no one is doing something like that without full knowledge of what may occur. That could turn out very poorly for everyone.

[She maybe knows all about that.]

[Toul only sees him as a rather large and animal-like human, so it's not nearly as confusing for her. It's more surprising that he doesn't speak through his mouth and instead she hears his voice in her mind. Not bad, but...different.]

Oh, no. It would have fit the ears, wouldn't it? [She reaches up and tugs on one of her ears.] I'm fairly simple in regards to ancestral traits, myself. Many humans have none at all and others have far more.
