Speakin' of... if any o'ye fine folk could point me in the direction of where I could get a wee dram, it'd be most appreciated. There's gotta be a pub or a tavern 'round here somewhere... O'course, I don't have much in the way of local currency.

I take it something recent's happened to make the locals distrust us?

Eh, kinda? We all disappeared for a year into the Dreaming plane and the kedan thought we were gone for good. Not like we were doin' them a favor by getting rid of the evil spirit that was gonna destroy the world, or anything.

Ha, yeah we did! Totally obliterated its punk ass! We had to use the shards of this thing called the Vilii Stone. 's kinda like the stone you got when you showed up here. We all had them when we woke up after we beat the fucker.

[Shay has no idea what a "punk ass" is, and decides it's better not to ask.]

So, if you beat the big, bad demon... Why are you still here? And why am I here?

[Jackie shrugs, looking unsure.]

I dunno. To bring us back from the Dreaming, Eva - the mage lady - she did...somethin'. Merged the Life and Dreaming planes together. And I guess the spell she did to bring us here kept going or somethin'.

She took some of us home, if we wanted to go. But I'm better off in Keeliai. So I stayed. [That's a nice way to say "I got tortured and disemboweled back in my home universe", Jackie.]

Alright, so y'had a choice after fulfillin' yer purpose. Good.

[Not so much kidnapping, then.]

Next question. Why am I here?

That's the million-dollar question. I think something happened with Eva's spell. It's still goin' on, bringing people here. I don't know why. I don't think anyone does.
