[ For all he likes to snark comment on other people's posts, Bakura hardly makes any of his own, and as such, this is the first one in several months.

He's sporting an impressive bruise on one side of his face, and looking suitably rumpled. There are also small traces of wispy black shadow clinging to him, and to the edge of the video frame, all of which he ignores. ]

Dojo's closed for today and tomorrow. Hebnay, sefatjiw, you can pick up your pay on the weekend instead.

Well... perhaps that wouldn't have been so bad, having someone else to stave it off.

[Gene laughs a little at the memory, and shakes his head.] Detention stuck with two people who hate you, one who won't leave you alone, one person you're trying to talk to in private, and another who seems weirdly jealous of half the people in the room. It, uh...it wasn't boring.

[ The closest analogy Bakura had for that would be hanging out with Yuugi and his group of friends, while masquerading as Ryou during or after school hours. And, he conceded, that hadn't always been unpleasant, if one could ignore the ever-jabbering about friendship and pointless things. The vibe of a group of friends, even ones who didn't get along all the time, was not unwelcome, just... had always been part of the act. ]

It sounds it. At least there's no detention here?

[Perhaps Gene and Bakura really are more similar than they let on. It's tough to be masquerading as a normal teenager when you have concerns that are so much bigger than an upcoming test.]

At least that much. Can you imagine? Not to mention it'd probably be unenforceable. [The Foreigners didn't much care for rules, as a whole.]

[ There's a just-a-touch-too-awkwardly-long pause, before Bakura shrugs and turns his attention back to their work. ]

Some of us did not have that choice, hebnay.

[Gene winces at that.]

I wasn't sure I had a choice, either.

[Tony had told him of the discrepancies in when they'd arrived, but he'd found it hard to believe he could have survived a shock like that. Then he found out.]
