I'm sorry...I didn't mean for this to happen. I didn't even know it could.

[She sounds exhausted.]

And I know that several of you are hurting as a result of what happened when I tried to possess Tu Vishan...

[The fact that the other foreigners had seen the vision was distressing, she didn't like being used for anything, even if it was by a benevolent being. It was still just too reminiscent of Malicant.]

But the turtle is alive.

And that vision...I believe it came from him.

What was it, exactly? A cry for help? A recurring nightmare?

I wish I knew...perhaps some sort of gravity is causing him to sink...a similar gravity to what...[She couldn't finish the sentence, the memory of the shells being crushed causing to stomach to turn painfully.]

[It was, perhaps, only because of the pain medicine she'd been taking that kept her as calm as she was, rather than risk losing her lunch for the day.]

Or maybe it is gravity. Just the regular, old, can't fight it without some sort of special ability kind.

He hasn't contacted us in months, right? Maybe because he's not in control.

Malicant is dead.

[It came out as a growl, but it was really fear that drove the anger. She didn't particularly like what was being suggested.]

[She would have rolled her eyes if it didn't run the risk of vertigo.]

All I said was that maybe Asti isn't in control. Haven't you ever heard of comas?

[That hit a nerve. She knew what a coma was, she had been in one not long ago, but it was a better answer than Malicant.]

I suppose that Tu Vishan could be in a coma, it would explain why he couldn't contact us until we tried to contact him.

If that's true, then it brings up another important question: what kind of coma?

Magic? Medical?

[Because that would have a huge impact on how they might be able to help. If they might be able to help.]

[ He didn't like that answer. Still, at least she answered.]

Malicant...tried to possess Tu Vishan, he was in part successful, but the turtle must have been stronger than him...If he tried to devour Tu Vishan's essence or to force it out...then I would have to believe that it is more...magical in nature.

[If she had to choose between the two that is. Medical didn't apply to possession, possession was more closely tied to the soul and healing to the body.]

[Her logic made sense. It wasn't definitive proof, but if the alleged coma was magical...]

Then there might be something we could do about it.

[She was quite glad for the distraction from the vision of death, and actually discussing how to fix the turtle was a relief.]

I hope so...

I've been here a long time. And I even got to meet Asti once. Sort of. I think. Meeting someone in your dreams counts here, right?

[She wasn't certain how to answer that question. On one hand, she knew it to be true, The Dreaming had proven that. But on the other...relying on dreams for happiness and purpose was a dangerous path. Luckily, that wasn't the question asked.]

[Fortunately, she wasn't talking about anything that in-depth. Her happiness wasn't dependent upon the idea of having spoken to Tu Vishan. It was more for...sentimental reasons.]

Figured. Which is why...I mean, magic is kind of a part of this world. It brought us here. And I know for a fact that it can be tapped into.

[At least something good came out from that mistake]

Maybe there is something we can do. Those of us who know magic.

[Magic...she knew that there were several kinds that didn't exist in her world, but...]

I'm afraid that my particular kind of magic is somewhat useless in this instance.

So far, you're the only person who's been close to getting in contact with him. I wouldn't exactly call that 'useless'.

[It may not have backfired on her this time, but what she had done was still dangerous...'reckless' was the word Raine had used.]

Perhaps, but it is also an unpredictable magic...the fact that you all received the vision is proof of that...I don't think I should attempt it again any time soon.
