Hey guys, I've got a couple of announcements to make.

First of all... have any Kedan lost a baby?

[And now Yuri lifts a small squirming infant up for everyone to see, the source of the strange cooing noise. The baby Kedan looks healthy and happy enough at least.]

I kinda found her by herself last night. So if anyone's missing a kid, or know of anyone who is, just let me know or stop by Brave Vesperia's new guild front in the Sky Sector.

And speaking of that, my other announcement is that Brave Vesperia is now open for business in our new official guild house. We're accepting jobs and new members.

[The baby squeals and tugs at his hair.]

And uh... trying to find this kid's parents.

[The kedan Anton uses as security these days should have been a regular enough patron before Yuri left to be recognisable. The three other suggestions Anton has, he describes, since they're aren't fixtures; but between them all the run the gamut of most influential gangs in the city.]

Over in the Water Sector. It was pretty foggy, dunno if that had anything to do with it.

It's a guild. We do odd jobs for people.

[For a price of course.]

[ River smiles a little; she almost heard that in her Captain's voice. ]

How odd? How do you get hired?

[wolfstrike]

Just about anything. People come to us or we go looking for them. Nothing shady though, only things that'll help people.

But how do you know when something's shady?

If it's illegal or morally wrong, but I guess sometimes you can't always tell.

Sometimes there's too much grey, can't tell which direction you're headed. Nothing's clear... like the fog.

Yeah, I know what you mean.

[He's done his own share of morally grey things himself.]

Do you know how to hold one of those?

[ Surprisingly civil for the whole dog-in-the-Hotel thing. Mostly he's concerned for small child in the interim. ]

If I didn't I'd be a disgrace to all the women who made me babysit for them back home.

Glad to hear it. I'd hate for this to turn into some kind of comedy where the caretaker has no idea what to do with a baby.

[ Cain, your dad-ness is showing. ]

Yeah, no worries there.

[Fortunately he's also got an angel to help him out too.]

So do you have kids or something?

Two. [ Not that they're children anymore, but that much is at least true. Jacob Kane has two children. Cain? Uhhh... we try not to get into specific numbers. ] So you could say I'm pretty old-hat at it myself.

[wolfstrike]

You've got one up on me. I know a thing or two but I'm not really dad material.

[Some might argue that though.]

Some people rise to the challenge better than they think they will.

[ Beat. ]

Then again, some others don't. Got everything you need over there?

[wolfstrike]

It's kinda hard to know how to be one when you didn't have one yourself.

[He shrugs. Yuri wasn't looking for pity, it was just a fact of life. It didn't bother him anymore.]

Yeah I think so. I picked up some formula and diapers.

That part comes with time. You might already have the idea and not even realize it, personal experiences to draw upon or not.

[ Cain didn't really have a father, either. Not one he remembered at all by the time his first kids rolled around. Does that count? ]

Good, sounds like you've got the basics down. Guess I don't need to pull the whole twenty questions routine.

Well if I need any advice I know who to go to.

That you do. Make sure you don't forget it.

[ Especially if it takes a while to find the girl's parents. ]

[A number scenarios run through Klaus's mind, the least horrible of which is that a parent or older sibling was just horrendously careless. Babies don't just get left behind. If the child wasn't abandoned, either deliberately or accidentally, then something more sinister may have happened.]

Was there any signs of a struggle?

[wolfstrike]

[Yuri would agree with Klaus there.]

I didn't see anything but it was cold and foggy, so I didn't stay very long to look.

[Getting the kid out of the cold had been his priority.]

I completely understand.

[He could relate to the child's safety being a priority.]

If possible, I'd like to have a look around where you found her. Perhaps some evidence remains.

Sure. I found her in the Water Sector.

[He then gives Klaus directions to the exact place.]

Is there anything you need in the meantime for the baby?

[OOC: Though the big question is: would he find anything suspicious?]

I think we're good. This should be temporary and we've got the basics covered.

[Though they did have to make a makeshift crib. No sense in getting a real one though considering they planned to find her parents eventually.]

[OOC: That I'm not sure about rofl. This is actually Dovefire's plot and I haven't really gotten details on that.]
