Yeah, never mind. Don't even bother answering that. I think I already know the answer.

There was an problem a few days ago and part of the Midnight Hotel is now under repairs. He's the owner, I mentioned him before. He doesn't tolerate any violence inside the Hotel.

[Danny briefly considers the sheer number of times he'd been attacked inside the house at home.]

Long story short? An immovable object meet an unstoppable force. The long story involves two Force users.

Okay, was the force one of the things I was supposed to learn about at the welcome center? Because its not ringing a bell.

[Maybe he should have paid more attention, but at the time Danny had been mostly convinced it was all a bizarre dream.]

No, the Force it's something that exist in my world. It's a metaphysical energy that connects and binds all living things around the Galaxy.

Only individuals sensitive to the Force are able to feel it and use it. It grants the users different sorts of abilities: telekinesis, mind reading, premonition, healing...

So... it's like an ultimate cheat code?

...okay, yes, a bit? But there's a philosophy and lifestyle around it too. It's not just about using cool powers.

You don't have people in your world with special abilities,then?

Only if ghosts count.

They do. If the stories are true, they exist in my world too.

Seriously? What do they do? Are any of them trying to take over the world?

They're ghost, I don't think they can't do much. Why would a ghost try to take over the world?

No clue. I always figured they must be really bored.

True but there are better way to spend the eternity than causing trouble, don't you think? They could try to help instead.

Yeah, I wouldn't really expect that from most of the ghosts that showed up back home.

[He knew some in the Ghost Zone who would, but it was usually only the trouble makers who came to the human world. ]

Sounds like you are very used to dealing with them.

I live in Amity Park. We get more ghost attacks than anywhere else in the world.

And you know why that happens? Did a lot of people die in that city in the past?

No, nothing like that. [Danny shrugs.]

My parents opened a permanent portal to the alternate dimension where ghost live.

In our basement.

And let's just say Dad's not the greatest at remembering to actually close the door.

Plus, once the ghosts knew where the town was? Well, some of them are good at finding natural portals.

[Poe's eyebrows shot up because wow, that sure is a story to remember.]

How did your parents manage to accomplish that...? And there's no way to close the portals?

Because they're inventors? And ghost scientists?

I don't think they've actually tried.

Ghost scientists...that explains a lot.

[Not really but, scientist. Poe knows better than to try and make sense of them.]

If they are putting people in danger maybe it's worth giving it a thought.

[Danny shakes his head. ]

I've thought about it before, but at this point it wouldn't do much of anything. The ghosts know where the town is, and there are plenty of other ways to get into the human world. Closing it would just mean that we didn't have a way to send ghosts back to the zone.

Ah, fair point. Becoming a ghost and being in the zone is what happens to all the people who dies in your world or it's supposed to be unusual?
