[Console | Video] Casting a Net
[Kevas tires of camping around the outskirts of the city. Tough as a troll might be, he's a jungle troll. All this cold and drizzle eats at him. He wants no more of it. Time to find a place for him to call his own for a while. First thing's first though, he needs money.]
Not sure how to go about dis other den just sayin' it, but I be needin' money and a place to stay. Now don't go thinkin' I be wantin' handouts cause I don't. Last thing I be wantin' is to be in some mon's debt. I be wantin' to work for my stay.
[Kevas tries his best to appear professional but it feels weird going about finding work this way. In Azeroth finding mercenary work is as easy as stepping into town, here not so much.]
I be a mercenary, former soldier, and somethin' of a wanderer.
[He doesn't like using the term 'adventurer'. It sounds too heroic. Kevas knows he's no hero.]
If any mons be needin' protection, a bodyguard, or help with gang problems I be willin' to offer my services for some steady pay. If dere be other services ya be needin' den give me da details and I'll talk to ya.
[After his talk at the Welcome Center he's trying real hard to avoid the 'kill for money' part of his job. Murder might not be a big deal to him but that seems to be a big no no in this place. Last thing he wants right now is a bad reputation. Then he won't get anywhere.
Unless someone wants to pay him extremely well.]
Also, I be wantin' speak with a Pepper Pots or Bakura about some kind of uh...police force?
[The way he says it makes it clear he's not too sure what that is.]
As long as ya ain't be military, and as long as ya be offerin' a fair price, I'd like to talk with some mon about dat.

[She's walking a fine balance between polite and sarcastic.]
Although I might find use for you as a bodyguard now and again. Do you have a name, darling?
audio;
I be a lot better at it den ya might think.
[Still not his forte though.]
Ya can call me Kevas. Now do I get to know who I be talkin' to?
no subject
My name is China Sorrows. I'm a collector, of sorts.
[There's a smile in her voice.]
Primarily of information, but I do have a certain fondness for magical rarities. Kevas. I'm sure it's lovely to meet you.
no subject
Dat always be a good business to be in I hear.
[And dangerous, no wonder she might want a bodyguard from time to time.]
Haven't heard any complaints about me yet. Be a pleasure to speak with ya ladymon.

I don't know about a job, but I can offer you a place to stay for a week or two until you get on your feet.
Appreciate da offer, but like I said mon I ain't be lookin' for handouts. Just ain't be feelin' right to me.
no subject
Doesn't have to be a handout if you don't want it to be. I run a shelter for the kedan in the Earth Sector, but we have plenty of free beds if you need one for a little while. You can help around the shelter in return, if you like. There's always laundry to do, or food to serve, or you can help with a few self-defense lessons, since it sounds like you might know something about that.
It's up to you, of course, but it's an option.

Look mon I ain't be havin' a clue what ya just said so dat ain't be helpin' me much. Must of misheard da ladymon.
[He thinks back on what she told him.]
She said ya did trainin'. Figured ya must have been da trainin' new recruits for dat or somethin'.
[Though he looks awfully young for that.]

[ She pauses. ]
One thing, though. Violence isn't allowed.
Voice | Radio
[After being a soldier for four years and a mercenary for another two, it was all he really knew.]
Guess some mons didn't get dat memo last time I was dere.

[Her voice is calm, pleasant even, and there is no sign of the irritation she is currently feeling. How in the world Bakura had been attached to her endeavor, she didn't know.]
My name is Valdis, I am the chief of Police.
Audio
[It's more a statement of fact than Kevas being insulting. Whoever she is though it doesn't seem to concern him too much.]
All dat matters to me is dat I'm speakin' to someone in charge.
no subject
[Still pleasant sounding, but she's still bitter.]
I am in charge of the Police Force, and I would be happy to answer your questions.

[ It's a good thing, but it comes with not a small amount of resignation. Fighting is what Mag is good at. ]
If you want to avoid 'handouts' you'll have to find something more utilitarian to do. Don't be so quick to dismiss cleaning if you have no other skills to utilize.
Video
I like fishin' and I can make some decent tea. Dat be about it.
[Also poisons, but he'll just keep that information on a need to know basis.]
