[From the moment the feed began, Zatanna's surroundings were a little more visible than usual. The Welcome Center, with her leaning slightly back. Clearly prepared to get comfortable if necessary. As if she planned on sitting there for a while.]

Hey, everyone.

[And to start, she waved at the camera. Master of showmanship, this one.]

Okay, so, most of you probably at least recognize my face by now. Because if not, I'm so not doing my job properly.

I'm Zatanna. I run the Welcome Center, and...well, let's just say there's a reason for that. I've kind of been here a while. Like, a really long while. Including that year we all spent in the Dreaming Realm...probably more than five years by now. Man, time sure does fly when you adjust to your kidnapping, huh?

[Jokes aside...]

A lot's happened in that time. I mean, we're talking everything from zombies to ghost possessions to baby turtles dream-hopping to people's powers getting all messed up. We used to have Emperors, you know. Like an actual monarchy. Oh, and that whole thing with the shell starting to glow? Yeah, that's definitely not new, though I haven't seen it since Ast--I mean, the Great Turtle was busy not being in a coma.

So, yeah, I guess if anybody has any questions on that sort of thing, I'm here to answer them as best as I can. I mean, I figured, share the wealth, you know? Since you all deserve to know what kind of place you were brought to, and how this whole thing all started in the first place.

((ooc: As I mentioned here, I did recently put together a basic list of plot-relevant events of the past for newcomers to check out. But here's a chance for your characters to get in on the story IC. Not ALL of it, of course, and these stories will be told from Zatanna's IC perspective, which can sometimes be a bit misleading or even missing information...but fellow Turtle Veterans are also welcome to join in on conversations. Mix and mingle and possibly threadjack at will!))

Force no, in comparison this is a vacation spot. I just worry it's not really real.

It's real, alright.

I mean, I'm not sure exactly how I could convince you or anyone else. But there's no way this could all be a dream. My imagination's not that good.

Heh, not it's fine. I trust you....mostly. [He snickers, clearly joking.]

Here I got to talk to some people from my world who were dead and gone for a long time. Just for that I should be glad.

[Relief. At his reaction. That her feeble attempt at lightening the conversation had worked.]

That is...one of the unexpected, even kind of cool parts about it.

And not just those from our own worlds. The ones from other worlds. Who...you might never have gotten to meet if it weren't for all this.

[Poe knows that worrying too much about things you can't change never helped anybody, no point on upsetting other people. He's glad she relaxed at the terrible joke, Jess would have groaned.]

Oh that too. Have you meet people from alternative futures of your own world too?

[Because Poe is still trying to deal with Han's everything.]

[She couldn't help it. It was either burst out laughing, sigh melodramatically, or roll her eyes. She chose the latter of the three.]

Have I?

I don't even know where to begin with that one. Though having an older, alternate universe version of one of my exes--from a universe in which I may or may not be his dad's ex--hanging around ranks pretty high up there.

[She shuddered. It was still way too weird to think about.]

I will say this about him, though. He's definitely fun, no matter which universe he comes from.

Okay you win this round. [Poe has to deal only with the not!deceased husband of General Leia and in his alternate universe he apparently had not-so-crazy kids. Or at least, kids that weren't Kylo. But Zatanna definitely wins. ] I am so sorry.

A small consolation but one nonetheless.

I would be much happier if certain people from my own universe weren't here, though.

[She shrugged at that. It could have been worse. So, so much worse, in her opinion.]

...that bad, huh?

Given that every time we talk we are either throwing threats or actively trying to kill each other…yes, that bad.

[A thought occured to her, and she had to ask:]

The incident at the Hotel?

Oh that...The people involved were a friend of mine and a criminal from my world. That fight took place on my first day in this city.

I see,

Some first impression, huh?

[There weren't many who earned themselves permanent bans from a location, on top of public shaming over the Network. In fact, the last incident she could recall...was Hannibal's sentence for murdering the Emperor, herself.]

An unforgettable one. But I am glad that Mr. Shudder interfered. Force users are a handful, specially if they are angry.

[And Anton was nice enough to still allow Poe to access the Hotel, given that he hadn't been involved int he fight himself.]

Do you know a man named Kylo Ren?

It's possible? I mean, not off the top of my head, but I more or less see everybody that shows up here unless they deliberately ignore the Welcome Center.

He's tall, dresses all in black, has bad temper and even worse manners.

Sometimes he's accompanied by a pale man with red hair that never smiled in his whole life.

They sound like such a charming couple.

They're outstanding. I'm so happy that they live in my neighborhood too.

[The sarcasm in his voice could cut steel.]

[Poor Poe]

You couldn't just move?

I mean, I get for some people, it might be a little harder than that...but you haven't been here all that long, have you? And if you hate the guys that much, wouldn't it just be easier to switch to another Sector?

I live in the sky sector with Rey. I don't think she ever had a proper house before and we even got a little garden. Besides, we lived there before them moved in.

[Plus the houses in the sky sectors are for free.]

If things get worse we might move but for now...

I gotcha.

She's pretty lucky to have someone like you around. Not everyone would be willing to stay for their girlfriend's happiness if people they hated that much moved in nearby.

[brb totally making assumptions here. But only because she thought it was sweet.]

[Poe should have expected people to make that sort of assumption but somehow he didn't. And so, he blushes slightly and then laugh.]

Oh...oh, no, we aren't together like that.

I see.

But you are together in some way.

[Word choice. She'll get you every time with it, Poe.]

We are.

[Oh, that's fine. Poe likes to play.]

It's called being housemates.

What a coincidence. I used to have two of those. Ended up dating both of them.

[This is the best ga--wait a second.]

...not at the same time, of course.

[JUST IN CASE HE HAD ANY QUIPPY IDEAS OF HIS OWN.]

[He was about to ask that, yup.]

And why not? It's not bad to be ambitious.
