[ the comm flips to life with the face of ariadne looking almost deep in thought for a moment (this whole place is a lot to take in) before she is sighing deeply, letting her hand unconsciously start to rub at the back of her neck, as she calmly ask: ] I'm wondering if anyone could tell me what year it is?

[ that's a simple question for a projection, right? ]

I mean, my friend and I...well we're new.

[ which hopefully will give her some type of leniency with others (though she is doubtful and can only smile somewhat awkwardly because of it) ]

...and I guess we would just like some type of idea what we’re up against here, or maybe where we're all coming from.

[ it's a vague question, and one that she isn't fully sure she will like the answer of. but at least it is something that might get them closer to understanding this whole mess. because lets face it, the natives aren't exactly the most helpful of people. ]

Few months, not too terribly long. And trust me, you can just call me York, don't gotta add nothin' to the start of it.

[ she sort of smirks at that, oddly amused by it still ]

[ she just sighs at that, pretending to consider that question. ]

I suppose that would be fine.

[ a ghost of a smile, adding with a sigh. ]

Maybe you could tell me something, York. [ because she has a few questions and you seem like you could be helpful here. ]

The Kedan -- what's with them?

Hey, it seemed a better option than Addie.

[ That question, though, makes him pause. ]

Well- they're uh, a little hit and miss. Like with any group, I guess, you suddenly get an influx of new people and you'll have some people that like 'em, some that don't care, and the, well, crazies.

Thankfully they're a little less common, but there's been some pretty...heavy stuff on the network.

[ Addie? Really? She just has to make a small face at that, shaking her head - that is until he mentions the other stuff. And she can only help but furrow her brow in thought to that, curiously asking: ]

What sort of stuff?

[ he flashes a brief grin, amused, though it fades at the second part. ]

Just-- some people weren't so happy to see us. Most of it's ironed out so far, and for the most part, they keep to themselves, from what I can tell. No one's been overly aggressive.

[ she just rolls her eyes, amused, as a small smirk appears at the corner of her mouth. (you're sort of funny, york) ]

Any idea why they're so vague on answers?

Secrets? Keepin' us on our toes? S&G?

Don't really know. I haven't spent too much time diggin', unfortunately.

It's the only way you'll ever get any real answers though.

[ a long beat, her brow arching in question ]

Don't you wonder why you were sent here?

Not so much. I mean, sure, there's the whole "why me outta everyone" but I'm-- [ come on, man up, say it. ] Word is, I'll be dead, so it makes sense with the whole story they're feedin' us. How else'd they know?

[ He's gone through every possible answer, and none of them make sense. ]

At first, I thought it was a really trippy dream.

[ if you only knew just how much you might be right about it being a dream, york. if you only knew. ]

I'm sure there are worse theories than it being a dream -- it still could be one though, you never know.

What made you stop thinking it wasn't though?

Well, yeah, there are, but--

[ he snorts, shaking his head. ]

Uh, 'cause a dream that lasts months without stoppin'? A dream where - I have someone who'd wake me up, if he knew. It's not a dream.

[ she just shrugs at that, smiling slightly at the idea. ]

We're riding on the back of a Turtle, anything is possible.

And really, dreams are what you make them, so don't count it out, okay?

Nah, not discounting them, it's just-- it isn't possible.

[ Delta'd wake him up. ]

You don't really know that though. [ seriously, anything's possible. ]

You could only be out for maybe five minutes and it would feel like a lifetime in a dream.

...Well, okay, yeah, that's happened, but I cheat.

And what do you really gain from cheating?

[ He pauses. She's not digging, so he won't delve too deep into it. ]

Better, more exciting dreams, I guess. Ones where the ending doesn't suck.

[ ones where you're not going to die perhaps? ]

Well I suppose that makes perfect sense. [ a faint shrug, smiling ] Though I'm not entirely sure you have to cheat to do that in a dream.

[ :( And where he fixes things. ]

Well, it's kinda cheating. Help and all that.

[ He waves a hand, laughing. ]

You've put up with enough of my crazytalk, though.

I don't mind crazytalk, trust me.

[ she shrugs, smiling slightly at him. ]

But hey, I appreciated the help York.

Hah, don't tell me that, I'll talk your ear off.

[ C: HE'S VERY SOCIAL and yay being around people. ]

[ seriously, she will poke you till you cant take it. but yay, at least he doesn't mind. ]
