[ the comm flips to life with the face of ariadne looking almost deep in thought for a moment (this whole place is a lot to take in) before she is sighing deeply, letting her hand unconsciously start to rub at the back of her neck, as she calmly ask: ] I'm wondering if anyone could tell me what year it is?

[ that's a simple question for a projection, right? ]

I mean, my friend and I...well we're new.

[ which hopefully will give her some type of leniency with others (though she is doubtful and can only smile somewhat awkwardly because of it) ]

...and I guess we would just like some type of idea what we’re up against here, or maybe where we're all coming from.

[ it's a vague question, and one that she isn't fully sure she will like the answer of. but at least it is something that might get them closer to understanding this whole mess. because lets face it, the natives aren't exactly the most helpful of people. ]

How long have you been here?

A week or two by this point. So I ain't exactly a seasoned turtle dweller yet, but there is some sort of pattern by now.

[ she smiled faintly at that, shrugging. ] You've still been here longer than me, so I'll take all the advice I can get.

True enough. [He rolls his shoulders in thought before speaking.] Best I can say- talk to many people as you can. It'll help form a bigger picture of this place in your head. That includes the locales, the nicer ones anyway. Some of them- aren't happy we're here.

[ she just nods her head slowly in understand, taking it all in with a clear interest. ] Any idea as to why some of them are like that?

Wish I knew beyond the fact they don't like us, my not so scientiffic guess is we probably smell weird or somethin'. [He shrugs a little, clearly at loss.] Or you know, we're outsides all up in their shit.

[ there's a hint of amusement that slips out of her at that. because ha-ha, that is sort of amusing that they might smell funny. ]

Well, there's no reason for anyone to be concerned about me, so hopefully they might slowly just come around and be willing to help us understand things a bit more.

[ which only has her shrugging slightly at the idea of it. ]

It's not like any of us are here to cause harm, right?
