I'm going to need someone to explain the metrics of this place without mentioning the giant turtle. Before you ask; yes, I have seen it. Though seeing it does little to convince me of its authenticity. I'd never get very far if I took everything at face value. Actually, there is a large percentage of work as a Green Lantern that involves detective work, if you are referring to the aspect of the job that investigates and solves crimes. I have done much of that both before and after my arrival in this world. My processors can recognize nothing within that definition that refers exclusively to magic.

I'm not insulted by the word or definition of magic. I'm insulted by anyone trying to convince me of its existence. If you're going to introduce me to a new concept then at least have the decency to explain the science behind it. I'll admit that I don't understand how it works now. The whole point of this was that I want to understand. SH

Your original message stated one's input was 'not needed' if they intended to discuss magic. That is precisely the opposite of inquiring further on a subject, regardless of your degree of understanding. In addition, you also claimed that any form of 'magic' that is 'explainable' is strictly defined by yourself as 'science' without allowing for any possible alternate explanations. Perhaps this is why you are not receiving the actual answers you seek. Your questions are misleading and ineffectual. Rather than attempt to insult and make potentially faulty assumptions which subsequently lead you down the wrong path of information, ask precisely what it is you want to know.

What other explanation could there possibly be? To an uneducated man, Magic is the opposite of science. To an educated one, they're one in the same. There's logical, scientific reason for everything. If you were to take a man from the eighteenth century and stick him, very suddenly into the year 2010 he'd think a smart phone was magic. I admit that perhaps that my wording was unclear, I merely want a better understanding of this place and telling me it's magic will only serve to offend me if no one explains beyond that. One thing that you need to be aware of though, is that if someone is used to a very particular type of science and very different versions of magic and then thrown into a world where all those laws and rules of reality suddenly don't apply it might be a bit jarring for them. There are, in fact, many individuals here in Keelai who even considered my own existence to be a form of 'magic' initially, as the technology that went into my creation and subsequent birth have yet to be replicated in any other world known to me at this time. Very well, then. The most commonly accessible biotechnical resource are the consoles which are used primarily by those designated as Foreigners for interpersonal communications. They are grown from natural local resources and fitted with the technology to send written, auditory, and visual transmissions. These can be publicly broadcast to the entire system, or directed to a specific individual's unique Network Protocol address. Most interesting is that, while the software itself has been tampered with in the past, including a variety of encryptions and functions made available to those who are fluent in a multitude of coding languages, it is currently impossible to interfere with the hardward without triggering an organic self-destruct sequence that will result in the entire console...melting, I believe, would be the most accurate description. The second most commonly accessible example would be myself. But I am not of kedanese origin and thus would be irrelevant to your current line of inquiry.

I have already performed every external scan that does not endanger my own systems. No such agents or devices are currently located within its construct. As I previously explained, the consoles are biotechnical in nature. Their organic components almost certainly produce such a chemical once any attempt at tampering triggers its self-defense instinct. That is one term that has been used to describe my existence, yes. However, terminology and cultural usage has led me to understand it is unique to descriptions of machines that assume strictly human appearances, and my current physical form is Volkreig.

What type of scan would damage your system? What exactly is a Volkreig? SH

One that would require a direct connection between myself and the system in question. It is of no danger when I am otherwise certain that system is clean and prepared for a temporary uploading of my consciousness, but I have been proven susceptible to this world's viruses and even organic pathogens and do not wish to become ill again. It was not pleasant. Volkreig is a dead planet that resides in the Forgotten Zone of Guardian Space.

To my knowledge, microscopes can be found both at the local college, which is meant to be an educational facility open to both kedanese and Foreign public alike, as well as at the Stark Industries company, where my laboratory and quarters are located. However, please note that you must first be granted permission before utilizing any of the technological equipment at either location. Precisely which customs do you wish to learn more about? There are many, although I have noted that certain local traditions have always been offered to Foreigners for participation at a voluntary level only, while others are not expected of us at all.

No where I can go to get one for myself and keep at home? SH

The Metal Sector has several markets that serve those with technological needs. However, I have found much of their equipment to be inadequate and prefer to purchase the individual components to construct personally. It has also proven more cost-effective, although that is of little concern to me at this time. If you possess such skills, then I recommend doing so.
