I'm going to need someone to explain the metrics of this place without mentioning the giant turtle. Before you ask; yes, I have seen it. Though seeing it does little to convince me of its authenticity. I'd never get very far if I took everything at face value.
That being said, Discussions on Science and verifiable facts only. if you intend to talk magic don't bother responding. Your input isn't needed.

seriously though, get in touch with the police force. foreigners don't stay dead, but everyone else does. it's a big city. murders and accidents happen.
there's a kid around here who does detective work too, you should talk to him. maybe you can work together. you'd be like a quirky buddy cop duo. [A misanthrope and a precocious elementary schooler solve crimes together? It's the perfect set-up for a TV show!]

his name's Conan. [He sends another handset ID code.] I don't think you'll have to do much babysitting. he's a really smart kid.
your feelings aren't going to get hurt if he's better at detectiving that you, are they?

Why would that hurt my feelings? I'd say that, if on the off-chance he is a better detective than I am, that is a trait to be nurtured. God knows the world could use more of us that are actually good at our job.
I'm Sherlock by the way, Sherlock Holmes.

Sherlock Holmes? like the books? really? [Hilarious coincidence, or self-fulfilling prophecy?]

Books? What books?

Wait, the Sherlock Holmes books were fiction, right? Or were they not? (See above, re: cultural deprivation.) Was Sherlock Holmes a real guy? Is this him, but time-shifted? Is this Jack Frost all over again? Oh, god, what a headache.]
nevermind. thought the name sounded familiar. it's probably a coincidence.

Yes, it has a wide readership. Practically all anyone can talk about back home is the case about the oak walking stick. All anyone ever mentions to me when I meet them.

[Entrapment dodged! Good luck trying to catch him in his lie - he's legitimately almost as clueless as he's pretending.]

John would be thrilled to know his blog has reached even more people. And frankly it's a relief if my reputation extends all the way out here.

there are probably blogs about me, too, but I try to stay away from those parts of the internet.
are you going to start blogging, now that this John guy isn't around to manage your reputation for you?
