[Fai is once again in the kitchen of the Midnight Hotel, this time wearing a plain old white apron instead of his frilly pink one (and of course, the ever-present eyepatch over his left eye). He's got his handset propped up on the counter and he's sitting with his elbows on the counter and his chin in his hands, and there's a book of some sort laying open between him and the screen.]

Hello again, everyone! I was wondering: how many of you out there like to cook? Or even if you don't really like it, how many of you have recipes you might be willing to share? [One hand drops down to pat the book in front of him] I'm trying to collect some new ideas for things to make.

Even if you can't really remember the exact recipe, if you know the basic ingredients I might be able to work off of that! And I'd be willing to share the results, of course~

I don't see why not! What kinds of things do you make?

Hot pockets. Breakfast burritos. Refrigerated leftovers that other people who are actually good at cooking have made.

Ah, I see. [He keeps smiling, even though he... only vaguely understands most of that. The refrigerated leftovers part makes sense enough at least.]

Do you not enjoy cooking, or have you never learned how?

Largely the latter. We have a full kitchen staff at home, and cooking doesn't seem to be the norm in at college in Orange Star.

[He nods] Well, I spend most of my days cooking in the kitchen at the Hotel. You're welcome to stop by for a little lesson here or there, whenever you're free!

[commandandcontrol]

I'll probably see you around a fair amount then, I just got a job as an executive assistant for Klaus.

[flowrite]

Oh, so we're going to be co-workers! That should be fun!

I suppose we should introduce ourselves then, shouldn't we?

[commandandcontrol]

That makes sense!

My name is Sonja. [ She bows to the camera. ]

[He just grins, and when she's done bowing he gives a little wave]

It's very nice to meet you, Sonja! My name is Fai. Have you been in this world long?

Hello, Fai. The pleasure is also mine.

I have no idea what the totals are. I've been here for a few months most recently, but I had been here before that, when I was a few years younger.

Over a year or something? I might be able to figure it out by going over console archives.

You made it home, and you came back?

[commandandcontrol]

Yup! Happens now and then.

[flowrite]

When you went back... did you go right back to the time when you were brought here, the way everyone says?

[commandandcontrol]

Oh. Maybe?

I didn't remember anything while I was back, and since then... well, it's hard to keep a coherent timeline after several years just based on barely remembered memories.

[flowrite]

I see. Do you like it here, at least?

[commandandcontrol]

I'm not sure I really think about it like that, and it might be a good idea to avoid asking other people that question, you might get some strong answers.

The way I see it is that I'm here, and that it must be for a reason, so I'm going to do the best I can.
