[It's not that Cobb has been here for a while, it's that he learns very, very quickly. It comes with the territory, of being very much accustomed to laying low. He's always been fairly cautious and wary unless personal matters are involved, after all. It's something that comes with the territory when you've been on the field long enough. He deems it appropriate enough to talk to the network as a whole now. Plus, he's asked enough to catch the basics--he's near a console by the window in a cafe in the earth district, nursing the best tea he's had in years and typing anonymously. ]

Interesting for a place not quite near life, death, or dreaming. How many people here are well versed in Oneirology? -Mr. Charles

Really? [Arthur smiles faintly.] You and Ariadne are neighbors, then. [He raises an eyebrow at her, because geez, Ariadne, pay attention to who's moving in next door.]

[ she blinked in surprise, only to shoot arthur with a look of her own. SORRY ARTHUR, she was too busy staying away from zombies to notice this detail. ]

Well that saves us some. [ not that she was going to be bugging him there, but at least she knew where he was. ]

I haven't been back to my place since the zombies, so I didn't even know they were getting the place ready.

Don't quite trust a room that's all fresh and picked out for me. [ The smile is a half-hearted attempt. A light dismissal. ]

[Arthur gives a shrug.] The level of technology here is pretty low. I swept both mine and Ariadne's suites for every kind of bug I know of, and didn't find anything.

[ her nose crinkles, sighing as she rubs at the back of her neck. ] Arthur's right - the technology is really low here - our places are the only places I'm not too worried about anything.

[ a small shrug of her shoulders and she is looking between the two men, a faint smile tugging at the corner of her mouth. ]

We'll figure this out, I know we will. [ and yes, she sounds somewhat optimistic about that still. ]

[ And there's Ariadne, optimistic and clever and Cobb's toying with the idea of telling her that that wasn't how the world worked before he snaps himself out of it. ]

I guess for the moment it's just basic intel. Keep your ear to the ground, keep pushing theories.

[Arthur nods, though part of him is annoyed with himself - he should have a better plan in place by now, but he just doesn't, and that bothers him as much as anything else in this situation.

Not that he'll let that show - not to Cobb.]

Yeah, until we get some more concrete information, the best we can do is blend in as best we can, and listen.

[ her brow just furrows as she looks up at cobb in a silent debate, curious as to what he is thinking, as she can clearly see there was something going on in that head of his. ]

Well... [ a small sigh and she was turning back to arthur, letting a faint (hopefully supportive) smile appear on her lips.] The projections have been pretty willing to talk to us. And Arthur's been doing well with his contacts, so I'm sure if we just keep playing it like we have, something is bound to turn up.

Unless of course, some random zombies show up again, then I have no idea what to do.

That-- [ Cobb's lips twist into something. It's certainly not a smile, but whatever it is is pretty hard to read. ] --We'll handle that when it happens. Right now, now that we've all agreed to lie low, is do it.

Question as many non-natives as you can. Someone might be from 'our world'.

Yeah, it's possible. Tough to say. Some are pretty obviously not from 'our world', but others... who knows? [Arthur shakes his head.] Distinguishing the real dreamers from the projections is going to be tough.

There's been a few that have been willing to help me, but... [ a long, drawn-out sigh, escapes her at that, as her brow furrows in thought. ]

I guess I can just keep at it and see what I can get with a few others.

[ though she was still just going to assume that they were all projections until proven otherwise. ]

If I hear more, you both will be the first to know.

[ He nods in response, unsure of how to proceed. The team has been damn good to work with, but this situation is more than a little new. It's not that he's never been honest with his feelings, it's more than he likes to omit them.

Still. It's damn good to see them both. ]

Same. See if we can't organize some sort of weekly meeting.

[Arthur gives a nod.] A weekly meeting would be good. Ariadne, you still planning on starting up some kind of business if you can? That would be a good front. I can do your security.

[ ariadne is nodding in agreement as shifts her weight from one leg to the other, her hand going to the back of her neck, rubbing. ]

I was planning on it. I've got my eyes on a few store fronts already. [ she has been rather hesitant to do much with it though, given everything that has happened. though now with cobb here, it might be a good way for them to get a better understanding of their new dream. ]

I'm sure once Cobb is settled; it might be a good way for us to better understand our environment.

[ a beat and she is looking up at cobb. ] No ones going to question two architect willing to help out, right?

Don't worry about settling in, go ahead. [ As far as Cobb's concerned, he's as comfortable here as he's ever going to be. ]
