001 ≅ [TEXT] / [ACTION]
[TEXT]
[Donatello decides to stick with text, because he doesn't entirely trust himself not to give away his barely restrained panic right now if he tries anything else.]
So forgive me if this is a stupid question, but is there anywhere I can find a map or something?
...Or even a help center for the unfortunately half-drowned? Travel agency? A Guide to the City, perhaps? The welcoming committee was helpful, but not that helpful.
Thank you.
[He's pretty sure if there is a place to collect information - and they sure made it sound like this happened often, so he'd surprised if there wasn't - he could slip in and steal their pamphlets or...whatever it was they had, without too much trouble. Still. If there's an easier method, he'd prefer it. He didn't want to go venturing out into the open half-cocked and alone.]
[Speaking of...he'd given up audio, so he'd also given up the chance of one of his brothers recognizing his voice. He'd have to think of something-]
[Ah.]
And if there's a place that sells pizza, I could really go for that right now.
[Not perfect, but it would have to do.]

[ACTION]
[No matter what happens during the day, once it hits the darkest hours of the next morning Donatello is going to brave heading up to the roof of his building {ME-2A} in the Metal Sector and start poking around the area. He'll be sticking very close to home and keeping it quiet, but if your character might have the skills and inclination to notice an extremely nervous ninja turtle, then by all means!]
[He'll be distracted by the different constellations in the sky and occasionally be stooping to investigate the material the buildings are made of. He'll keep reaching up to check that his staff is still there. Don't get too close or he will probably try to smack you with it.]

... Just don't expect him to keep up with the conversation if Donatello decides to get too technical.]
I've... Never considered any of that before, dude.
I make my body out of whatever is around me. It's not like I really get to be picky or anything, except for this one time when I made it out of stone from Limbo and I was badass and magical. [In the loosest sense of the term.] I'm pretty sure that I can't be killed or anything anyway.
[He shrugs.] I could show you how I form it, though, if you want. [And then he smirks just a little.] It's pretty explosive.
[1/2]
How explosive? Literally? Like, the energy you're using to form your body explosive, or the actual impact of the rock? If you wouldn't mind, it would be so cool if you'd let me see.
When do you have to form a new body? Does your old one get worn down or is it like changing clothes and just a preference thing?
[2/2]
[then he has time to think about what he just wrote.]
[and then he not-so-rapidly fires off this next message]
But...it probably wouldn't be a good idea to meet just yet, if you can't do it over video. I'm still new, you know, and I haven't really gotten to know anything yet so I wouldn't want to
[He stops, and just leaves it there, unable to think of how to excuse himself. He can't just go running off to meet people, he's supposed to be looking for his brothers and trying to find a way out of this place and how could he forget where he is? And revealing himself? Right, he's not Raph, he can't just punch anyone in the face who might take issue with his form.]

If meeting isn't your thing, then you'll just have to imagine it for a while. Think of a Michael Bay movie, only ten times more awesome and practical... But Megan Fox can still be there...
[Aaaaand now he's back.]
I only really change it when I, you know, go boom. There isn't a need to... Though, I get dirty after a while sometimes. [And the rocks will erode from constantly grinding together.] Look, I can't just explain everything on this thing.
I'M SORRY SANTO how does don manage to suck at people more than RAPH
[no, seriously, he has never hated being a ninja more]
Maybe once I get my bearings and find my brothers? The only person I've seen with a mutation like yours bonded with a plant. He has wickedly fast regeneration capabilities, but nothing like what you're describing.
Yours sounds way more awesome, by the way.
[and explosions and...probably not trying to kill him or his family, which is a bonus in the cool points department]
That's pretty bad, dude. Doesn't mean Santo is giving up, though.
That's just because I'm awesome. It's pretty much a given that my mutation would be awesome as well.
Buuut I'm not the only mutant around here. You'll see a bunch of them eventually, I'm sure.
We don't kill people... Just saying. Everyone always assumes that.

[More than you know, big guy.]
Thanks. For talking with me. [Not that Santo really gave him any direct information (except that apparently indestructible mutants were fine showing their faces) but he did help Don calm down, even if that mostly involved foot-in-mouth syndrome.]

The name's Santo, by the way. If you, you know, need anything since you're new, I've been here for at least a couple months now. So I kind of know what's up.
no subject
Right. Thanks, Santo. I'll remember that.
[and a little while later, because auuugh and screw it]
You can call me Don.
