[Those who have seen it before might recognise that Percy is sitting in Annabeth's suite and using her console rather than his own] Okay, so, first things first. Sea prunes? Don't go there. And I'm saying that as the guy whose dad probably invented them.

[His fingers reach for a nearby pen and absently tap it against the desk before he scrawls something meaningless on a piece of paper nearby. People who have spoken to Percy before might not that he's more twitchy than usual, almost agitated.] Second, um. Are there any jobs going in places that are a little more Foreigner friendly? Apparent customers won't buy things from places if the person serving them calls them a jerk, even if they're being one. The managers don't seem to like it, either. Something without boring, repetitive tasks would be great, too. As it turns out, that's kind of hard to deal with when you're ADHD. [A beat. He fold the paper in half absently slides it into a nearby book.] And if any writing could be in Ancient Greek, that would be awesome. Dyslexics of the world untie, that sort of thing.

[He picks the book up and places it somewhere off-screen, seemingly unaware of what he's doing. A grin tugs at the corner of his mouth, and he laughs, a little sheepishly] Okay, so I don't do a great job at selling myself. But I promise, I'm hardworking. I'm resourceful, I don't mind manual labour, I can talk to sea creatures and horses, and I make a mean garden hose. And I really, really need something to do here, or else I'm going to lose my mind. And believe me when I say no one wants a crazy demigod on their hands. [He gives a small wave, and is about to disappear when he thinks of something]

Oh yeah! Apparently there are some people who don't know how to swim? I can totally teach you, if you want. Or...I dunno, take people on water rides around the turtle. Floating around in the ocean in a bubble is pretty neat, I'm just saying.

[Percy doesn't even bother switching to the text function, so Eames get to see him squinting and murmuring the words under his breath as he tries to figure out what it says. 'Expound' gives him the most trouble. It takes him maybe a minute before he sits back, rubbing a hand over his face]

Because I'm sixteen? [There's an old hesitation born from the fact that he's not really supposed to talk about this back home, but then he shrugs] Yeah, sure. The other word is 'halfblood'. It basically means anyone who has one human parent and one...godly one.

[ if eames wasn't under the cover of pretending to be someone called freddy simmonds who is down right a decent folk, he'd have advised percy to never reveal anything you wouldn't be inclined to divulge in. titles are jars of worms, and even at the prospect of a multicultural society someone's bound to ask.

[ there's a lot of wariness in his tone at the word: 'demigod'. ]

[Percy's grin has a little bit of a smirk to it; people in his own world had trouble believing in a son of Poseidon, he's not surprised to find scepticism elsewhere.

But it drops a little when he processes the age comment. Not because of anything the guy said, but because it triggers his own thoughts about the longevity of demigod lives] Yeah, and I almost didn't make it this far. Demigods are still mortal, though. Unless you do a favour for an actual god. [And might not make it much further]

[He rubs the back of his neck] Poseidon.

[ see eames hasn't thought of it on that tangent. all he's gathered from this place is that people that are more than humans are a thing ( allegedly ) and that some of them run different cultures. ]

So why not ensure yourself some durability and do your dad a favor or two?

I did. [His tone sounds more sheepish than bragging] But come on, who wants to be sixteen forever? [yeah he's saying he turned down immortality]

[He grins] Is that personal experience?
