[Contrary to his usual charming self, Courfeyrac looks nearly heartbroken as he faces the feed.]

I lost it. I already lost it and I don't know how I'm going to replace it. Surely I cannot charm my way into another hat... And I'm not entirely certain I wish to! This one I had deemed my lucky one until I could find one more of my fashion in this place!

[He sighs and dramatically slumps, burying his face in his hands.]

And here I had dared to believe my luck had changed here.

Well, I'm not much of a hat girl, so I won't argue with you there.

If you're going to get another one, though, definitely go for something classier than the norm. You have the hair for it. [ said as if it's both a simple observation and a compliment. ]

Do I? I'm relieved to hear it. I'm in search of a top hat, in fact, though those are much more difficult to find here.

Aren't top hats too fancy for everyday-wear? I mean, if you're dressed like that all the time, what do you do for parties?

And what would you propose otherwise? Top hats are common for day-to-day wear back home, you simply don a different hat for a party.

Well, the only hat that's exactly semi-fancy is the fedora, but only certain people can wear it and not look...douche-y.

[He furrows his eyebrows a little.]

What does a fedora look like? And..... what do you mean by "douche-y"?

[Lady, you are using strange words.]

It's a felt hat, creased along the sides and pinched at the front, [ she illustrates with her hands. ] about half as tall as a top hat, but generally just a stiff. Also, it can be twice as hot as a top hat or twice as weird-looking, depending on the guy wearing it.

And a douche is a jerk, like, a cocky guy who's rude and stuff like that.
