[Annabeth is on the screen - she's cut up in a few places, like something shattered too close to her face, but it's healed over a few days; her expression is steely and hard. More bad news, and that's just brushing the surface.]

I know the location of Evastelei. I'm not telling you where. [She pauses. She hates potentially using the network like this - she knows Malicant must be watching, so part of that you is definitely at him. But she needs help here. There might be someone who can figure out what's up with Eva, or maybe even a way to help. It doesn't make it any less nerve-wracking.]

But she's unconscious. She has been, since our city-wide collective blackout. [Her mouth draws into a line. It's risky, admitting her state (again, because of Malicant; she never did figure out their exact connection). But nothing is going to change if she keeps it to herself. Maybe he already knows.] We need to wake her up. If anyone thinks they might - know something about magical comas, please tell me.

[She's also aware that her tone, her words, all of it implies some sort of relationship with Eva. For the first time she's somewhat admitting to it publicly, she's not quite so nervous. Maybe it's because she feels like she's been laying low lately, and there are more new faces around than familiar ones.]

Have you been adopted by a turtle since the last time we spoke? [ turtle walkie-talkies, anyone? ]

[She narrows her eyes a little. It's not too hard to assume where the rest of the sentence was going. Annabeth gives a subtle nod.]

I have. Captain Bobby. [Who is, fortunately, among those still alive.]

[ Sarah's Captain Bobby. He should get to know Captain Bobby once there's a real chance to. ]

[ Quintus - quite used to this by now - passes the message along to Captain Bobby. In short, it tells her that Akito can diagnose any oddities in a body by listening to their biorhythms, but doesn't know if any magical influence will impact biorhythms. ]

[Annabeth gets it from her turtle and has Captain Bobby rely one back.]

[She's too hesitant to share the location of Eva's body immediately, for several safety reasons, but she does think it's definitely something magical involved. And a question: does listening to the biorhythms always work for him?]

[Not in the message is just her own skepticism about biorhythms - but you never know if something is more legit in one world from the next. The gods certainly don't exist everywhere.]

[Nilin has few friends left in this place. Annabeth is someone she's worked with before and never had issue with. She'll help wherever she's needed.]

[Annabeth's in a similar boat, in terms of lack of friends - and Nilin worked well, when they were charged with sneaking into the palace. The other two aren't around anymore either, as far as she can tell.]

Unfortunately, impossible for me at the moment and not relevant to Eva. [Because, you know. Percy's not here. Implying he's her true love doesn't even occur to her as being too sappy right now, because it's just kinda... true, or something.]

[This on top of everything else is fairly ominous, but at least Eva isn't actually missing or dead. A magical coma sounds like it's something Raine has at least a chance of helping with, and she's concerned about Annabeth as well, so it's enough to prompt a response.]

I may be able to do something. Shall I meet you somewhere to discuss it?

[Because she doesn't expect Annabeth to trust her with something this large out of hand, but it's not something she'd like to have on the network right now either.]

[She gives a short nod. She understands entirely the idea that talking over the network is anxious, and she knows Raine is a healer - even if she's still wary about sharing Eva's location, she'd like to hear the woman out.]

Waterbending can heal more than just wounds. Chi paths in the body can be directed with it, so even when someone’s unconscious or their spirit isn’t in their body they’ll be kept healthy and alive. It can’t be done forever, but better than nothing. I might be able to feel what’s wrong with her if you don’t what it is already.

[She lets the subject go with an unconvinced eyebrow lift at the word ‘fine’. A word she uses all too often.]
