Second Post [Video]

[Sabriel looks exhausted, but there's a certain note of satisfaction in her voice as she speaks.]

Atam was... interesting. I found several rather interesting things there. [Two of them are laid out behind her- a trident and a sword.] Including two books of Charter Magic from my own world. The shopkeeper said he simply found them one day, which brings me to my next point. [A brief look of anxiety comes over Sabriel's face, and her tone becomes something between a student giving a presentation and a teacher giving a lecture.]

I know the kedan are unfriendly, and that many here cannot defend themselves. Since I was a child, I have been taught how to wield a sword, and was tutored at my school in the basics of sorcery, and I want to share that knowledge with those who may need it to protect themselves.

[And Sabriel's long white fingers trace a glowing symbol in the air- the mark for light, to be specific, and lets it collapse into a bright pinpoint of light, illuminating the room.]

Charter Magic is not a toy, and can be a powerful tool in the hands of the skilled- a tool to harm, create, heal... or do many other things, if you know the correct symbols and have the power to use them properly.

[Sabriel lets herself relax a little.]

If anyone has any questions or would like a further demonstration, I would be happy to answer any such request here. And I have one inquiry of my own- is there any business in Keeliai that will hire foreigners?

[ooc: More info here (And please comment so I can keep track of how many people have already signed up) and here, for more info. Comment in either entry for ooc questions!]

[Definitely not Poseidon's domain there. He's curious as to what type of magic she knows, having been friends with at least one JLA magic expert, but he'll save that for the in-person conversation.

It really doesn't take him long to shut down the console and head over there, looking very much like some kind of sea-dweller in bright orange scales. He knocks politely.]

[No judgement here. People don't exactly get tans on the bottom of the ocean. Plus Arthur is used to all manner of unusual things. He smiles slightly, polite.] I am. I should thank you for picking it up, I hadn't been into town yet.

What was the procedure? If you don't mind my asking. [Thinking about whether or not it's worth it to bother with entering legally or if he'd rather try to sneak in. It'll probably be the latter.

Ah, but there it is, he can almost feel it reaching out for him. When he picks it up, she can probably feel the magic in it grow... less dormant feeling, somehow.]
Definitely mine. Nice to have it back, all things considered. [He digs out twelve coins from a pouch and hands them over amiably.] My thanks again.

Ah, that sounds... unpleasant, and unwarranted, all things considered. [Invasion of privacy, yep. He's damn sure not going to subject himself to that, even if their needles could get through thick Atlantean hide.] Bells? For some sort of magic?

Arthur Curry. It's a pleasure.

[Oh. Well this is awkward. Arthur tenses, hand tightening around his trident.]

Necromancy. I see.

That isn't the definition of necromancy where I'm from. [Long, unpleasant story. It's still an open wound, the Black Lantern Corps, his involvement, what they did to his son, to his wife, to him.]

You'll forgive my wariness of the black arts. [Sorry Sabriel, he kind of thinks anything dealing with dead people is dark magic. Atlanteans can be a little superstitious - usually Arthur is better than that, but he's had a lot of unpleasant experience with spirits and the dead.] Atlantis has been plagued with all sorts throughout history.

For your sake, I hope that's true.
