[Seeing herself looking back at herself in the little window on the corner of her monitor, Korra gave a stumped look and tapped the little camera lens that the desktop was using. Seeing her huge finger tapping back at her caused her a smile and she cleared her throat. Music can be heard from the speakers.]

Ahem. Hello. My name's Korra, I just got here. I'm the Avatar, but I'm not too sure that means anything here. [She looks both angry and confused, immediately wondering why she just thought of that now instead before.] But anyway, the kedan informed me that I should probably get a job. [Of course it probably sounded a lot nicer when they said it.]

So if anyone knows of a good place to work at, I'd appreciate the help. [She leans forward and puts her forehead in her hand, admonishing herself for not bringing up what she would able to do for work.] Um, I'm a bender, I can create fire and move water or earth around or into just about any shape or form you need? [Ice sculpting crossed her mind. She'd never given any thought to it. Then again she was never too artistic to begin with.] I don't know if fire matters? Burning things doesn't sound a like it'd be in big demand...

Also I'm a former pro athlete! If there's any kinds of sports going on I'd like to get into that! [A smile spreads across her face.] Doesn't even have to be a job, just for fun.

I'm in the Metal Sector if that helps. If anybody's from there we can meet up and you could fill me in a little more about this place? Looks pretty cool to be honest. Oh, and food, meeting at a restaurant would be good. [She stares at her monitor screen with her lips pushed to one side of her mouth.] And any advice or pointers on these things- [She points at the monitor, which just seems like she's pointing at the viewers.] would be welcome too. The kedan gave me a quick once over for it, but I'm not sure that's going to be enough.

[There's an long awkward pause as she looks left to right nervously.]

[She's basically right.] Yeah I am and...not all of us. We've all sort of been arriving every now and then? It's weird when it's someone from home.

English I suppose? A lot of people mention Earth and look like they'd know it?

[He's just smiling at that. What, it's a compliment! And the smile turns into a little bit of a smirk as he leans back in his chair, bringing one hand from behind his head to hold up three fingers.]

Three. I decided I was too awesome to actually look my age so I wished myself to reflect said awesome.

English? I'll have to look into that. [She scrambles for a pencil beyond the view of the camera. And she starts writing on a little piece of paper.] So can you read this at all? [She holds up a small paper note written with chinese characters.]

Wishes. Uh-huh. [She doesn't look convinced in the slightest.]

Not a word of it. [That's when he reaches and gets some paper with really bad doodles and writes stuff down and then holds it up.] This is English.

[He holds up both hands after putting the paper down.]

The truth is way complicated.

[After staring at it intently for a few moments Korra finally just blurts out-] Yup. That's a lot of gibberish you got going on there Kon.

All right, so I'm just going to pretend that's not weirding me out. Know of any instructors or masters that could teach me how to read whatever it is you scribbled down?

[He rubs the back of his neck and makes a small 'hmm' kind of noise but more...unsure.]

It involves science, a lot of science, stuff I don't understand or care about but in a nutshell, it's why I'm the age I am, but look like this. I was too early so I only aged to 15.

You know what, I can talk to Kent and Lois for you, the radio people? They're journalists...or they were back home. Really good ones.

So can I just say you're 15 then, because thinking of you as a three year old just makes my brain hurt. A lot.

Um, I can't guarantee I'll be too good with any radio work. All I know is that there's a microphone and it comes out the other end. [And she can't help but get excited.] And the games, oh the games, is what I'd leave it on for. Never thought of myself as an announcer before. Hm.

Are there any other sports here? Official ones?

Oh, I kinda meant they could help you with English. They used to write for a living but radio here is easier cause the voodoo magic means we can all understand each other. [He tilts his head at that.] Games? You know, I don't think there are any official sports here? Not something I've actually looked into.

No sports? That needs to change. [With a smug look of determination she cracks her knuckles.]

Oh, that makes sense. journalists do have to write, now don't they. [Giving a the paper she wrote on a stare while she thought before finally saying anything.] That is some weird magic. That emperor lady is in charge right? When does she meet people?

[He perks up a little.] You know if you set up a sport then people will probably really go for it. I know I will. I mean there's games and stuff and there's the odd time a sport is played, but it's spur of the moment due to boredom sort of thing. Nothing major.

[He thinks for a moment as he tries to remember how the whole Emperor thing works.] I think she had an audience not long ago? I think it's every month that she talks to us. I don't think we really get a lot from her though. I've never spoken to her in the palace.

Well it definitely can't be pro-bending, it would have to be something everyone can do. The season might depend on the weather. Hmm. [She stores that thought away for later. Thinking about meeting the Emperor wasn't something Korra felt was a great idea just yet. She had really only seen one sector so far.] Well she doesn't sound very helpful. Why am I not surprised?

Hey no problem. Oh you should totally put the sports call out to everyone when you've settled. Might help to get more ideas.
