[Seeing herself looking back at herself in the little window on the corner of her monitor, Korra gave a stumped look and tapped the little camera lens that the desktop was using. Seeing her huge finger tapping back at her caused her a smile and she cleared her throat. Music can be heard from the speakers.]

Ahem. Hello. My name's Korra, I just got here. I'm the Avatar, but I'm not too sure that means anything here. [She looks both angry and confused, immediately wondering why she just thought of that now instead before.] But anyway, the kedan informed me that I should probably get a job. [Of course it probably sounded a lot nicer when they said it.]

So if anyone knows of a good place to work at, I'd appreciate the help. [She leans forward and puts her forehead in her hand, admonishing herself for not bringing up what she would able to do for work.] Um, I'm a bender, I can create fire and move water or earth around or into just about any shape or form you need? [Ice sculpting crossed her mind. She'd never given any thought to it. Then again she was never too artistic to begin with.] I don't know if fire matters? Burning things doesn't sound a like it'd be in big demand...

Also I'm a former pro athlete! If there's any kinds of sports going on I'd like to get into that! [A smile spreads across her face.] Doesn't even have to be a job, just for fun.

I'm in the Metal Sector if that helps. If anybody's from there we can meet up and you could fill me in a little more about this place? Looks pretty cool to be honest. Oh, and food, meeting at a restaurant would be good. [She stares at her monitor screen with her lips pushed to one side of her mouth.] And any advice or pointers on these things- [She points at the monitor, which just seems like she's pointing at the viewers.] would be welcome too. The kedan gave me a quick once over for it, but I'm not sure that's going to be enough.

[There's an long awkward pause as she looks left to right nervously.]

Well you were lucky, Asami has always been the nicest.

[After clicking the link Korra’s eyes move in a repetitive manner and as she reads her mouth slides into a doleful frown, her eyes narrowing during an emotional pang.]

Thank you. [Her sad tone barely carries to the microphone in her console.] It just feels like I’ve been robbed of a part of my life. [Even with the knowledge the kedan told her of time halting back home.]

She was... [What words will actually work?] Kind. And polite, and exquisite.

[Damian shrugs, but it's... he can't exactly say - yet - the words I was sad when she disappeared. Maybe one day.]

[Then he tilts his head to one side.]

I suppose so. However, if you cannot return willingly, that would make remembering rather frustrating, would it not?

Even with all that’s happened to her, she still manages to be a great person. [A smile comes across her lips.] Glad you told me, makes this place a little more friendly.

Not remembering things is going to be frustrating either way I think. Wait, does this mean you’ve already talked to me before? [She squints at the boy on her screen trying to see if anything would come up in her mind. But nothing, not even a name.]

[This is new. Bringing gladness. Damian nods, then manages a not even a little grumpy,] You're welcome.

[Then he shakes his head.]

No, I did not. But Asami talked about you, while you were here before, and after.

[And he watched and listened, but, well. After the conversation with Zatara, he's a little less eager to mention that. Especially outside of costume.]

I suppose wishing you welcome on Tu Vishan is probably appropriate now, yes?

Appropriate; probably. But really you just telling me about Asami knocks any welcome clear out of the water. Gives me hope that I just might be able to see my friends again. [His reserved demeanor isn’t lost on her though. She really wished she had Asami’s natural charm right now.]

Since you already know my name, what’s yours?

[... oops. Damian makes a bit of a face at himself.]

If... you have questions about Tu Vishan and Keeliai, I will try to answer them - now, or when they arise.

Good to know Mr. Wayne. [A little ribbing probably isn’t the best thing for her to do.] I might just be bothering you later, but I’m starting to pick a few things up. When I hunt down a job, I’ll probably learn more than I wanted to.

[A thought occurs to her that puts her bottom lip over the top one.] Did the kedan tell you to work for money too? [Not only a bit immoral given her age, but also a little bit illegal on her world. A little]

... Damian. Father is here, too, making a call to Mr. Wayne is likely to get his attention, first.

And, yes. Everybody here needs an income. In the beginning, I was mostly working with some of the kedan children. Now that is... almost completely dried up, and I am employed by Father. In case you cannot find a job with the locals, Bruce Wayne is likely to be able to find a position for you. Wayne Enterprises and Stark Industries are the two big non-kedan businesses. There was a small bakery, as well, though I am not sure how well that survived, with the rationing. I remember the last post was determined to keep it going.

Your dad arrived with you? [Quick to jump to that conclusion.]

Wow, that's good to know. From what I've been gathering the locals aren't too eager to hire us, but it's worth a shot. [Bruce and Damian Wayne. Stark Industries. All mental notes she's taking down in case push comes to shove in her job hunt.]

Thanks a lot Damian! You've been a huge help. [Despite looking a bit too serious for his age.]

[Damian shakes his head.]

Not with me. He was brought here later than I was. [That is Father's story, at least. Damian's not going to even hint it's imprecise.]

It is no problem. The kedan were far more willing to interact in a friendly fashion and to provide employment before the rationing. Now... there are still some who will, but you should be careful. The unfriendliness is not always limited to words, and they are stronger and faster than humans.

I'll keep that in mind. [She will probably be pretty thankful for that heads up later.] But I'm pretty sure I can handle myself if push comes to shove.

[Small, fleeting smirk.]

I gathered.

[And then it fades.]

It will probably be still better to avoid such situations than fight through them.
