[The feed clicks on to reveal a red-headed teen with yellow eyes, who's currently peering at the device like it's going to explode.]

Okay, power button. Check. I thought this could be like that episode of The Twilight Zone where they execute people by blowing up in their rooms and that maybe someone was clever for a change and made the self-destruct button look like the on/off. But! Obviously not, because I'm still here.

I think I'm getting paranoid. It's like there's this voice in my head going -

[Bart holds two fingers up to either side of his head, so they stick up through his hair like ears.]

"Trust nothing."

[He puts his arms down, and he really drops them. They're just suddenly gone, and the camera picks up maybe two frames of the action, but even that's a little lost in a yellow flash. Bart only laughs with relief.]

Hey! Look at that, they weren't lying about that either. Now, if it would just hurry up and work all the time.

So, uh. Hi. Bart Allen. Anyone know where to find the games on this thing? I gotta pass the time until the rest of you slow down.

Okay. I've got questions. Why do you look like you, but Kon looks like we should be roasting marshmallows?

Well, time is a little wibbly wobbly here. Kon's taken from... oh, about a minute and a half after I told you guys my name. I'm from kind of a lot later. After Batman disappeared and came back, if that means anything to you?

I had to harass everyone to get updates. You went all black ops on us. No big deal, though. [He's kinda hurt by it, but he's going to let it go now.]

Oh... man, a lot. Batman, Batgirl 2.0, Robin--the new kid. And my big brother--except he's my little brother here, and still Robin and from a different world. Wally, Zatanna, and a friend of theirs--their Aqualad, who is definitely not Garth. They're all about the same age, and from the same universe. Superman, Lois Lane, Black Canary, Kyle Rayner... I think Guy, is around too? And another Lantern I don't really know. Aquaman, Mera, Supergirl and Red Arrow from a different universe...

So... codenames here then. I was going with Bart - I came in like this. [Bart waves a hand at his t-shirt, and then turns the hand towards the camera so that the costume ring is easily seen.]

I figured it was a little late to change. And Kon's going as Kon. What about you? Because it's hard to make something sound serious and important without a name to emphasize.

Because you neglected to mention that Batman's here, and I completely just did the Bat ears where he can see them.

More important though: that many? Why are we all still here?

Code names in costume, real names when not--just like home, really. I washed up as Tim Drake, but I've put together a costume for nighttime fun. Which is not just like home, but we make do.

Mostly the code names thing was because I'm overdue a lecture on "secret identities are meant to be secret, Tim," from Bruce, and I didn't want to remind him of that where he could see it.

And to be fair to me, you did the bat ears before I could point out that he's around.

As for why we're still here. [He actually makes a face.] Working on that.

You made a costume? I have to see this. I made my first Kid Flash one. Still have it, but I outgrew it. Sewing's not really hard. Finding the thermoacoustic polymer was the hard part. I got lucky; mine came with me so I don't have to bother - woah, off track.

That sounds like a great lecture. [EYEROLL]

Heh. True. I have perfectly serviceable, non-Robin-like shoes, which is a definite plus.

And don't worry about it. It was kind of my fault. [shrug] Definitely not stupid, though. Nice as is it to have all the familiar faces of people we can trust around, I don't think I'd wish anyone here.

How do you wear those things? With the cleft toes or whatever you want to call them? They look like those socks people get so they can wear flip-flops in January. Like. It's winter. Give up the ghost.

And... yeah. I'd rather no one be here. I feel better about it with you guys around, but that doesn't mean I'm happy knowing my friends are caught between life and death and sleep too.

They're surprisingly comfortable once you get used to them. And excellent for climbing. But I totally agree about the flop-flops.

That's... exactly how I feel about it actually. Right on the nose.
