[ The video turns on to a view of a man’s face, and those observant enough to notice nitpicky details might realize that this is a man who’s familiar with and comfortable using strange bits of technology. There’s no fear in his eyes, no outward confusion or panic. He looks calm and in control, and when he speaks, he sounds like it, too. ]

Hello. My name’s Steve Rogers and I just recently arrived from a city called New York. I was debriefed about the situation and I wanted to offer my help to anyone who needs it.

[ He pauses for a moment as he collects his thoughts. These days, it’s not often that he goes somewhere that people aren’t at least slightly familiar with who he is. Providing a brief resume is a somewhat novel experience. ]

I’ve been a soldier for a long time, but I’m also good with my hands. Construction, farming, hunting, good old-fashioned heavy lifting, I can help with that. I can speak a number of languages, too, if anyone needs translations done. I know I’m new, but I want to pull my weight. So if you know anyone who might need a hand with something, let me know.

[ Offering a faint smile, he gives the camera a short nod. ]

[He slumps back and sighs, it comes out heavier than he expected it to.]

Honestly? I've been doing better. My powers still aren't quite right and I was brought here during a crucial moment. So...adjusting will take some time. But I don't need anything I don't think. Thanks for the offer though. What about you? Settling okay?

They told me that time doesn't run the same way here as it does as home. What's happening in that moment should keep until you get back.

[ Unless they're lying, but Steve can't do anything about that and he would prefer to take them at their word for the time being. At least until he forms a contingency plan. ]

I am. Things are still a little unstable back home, but everyone should be able to handle it.

That won't exactly stop me from worrying or being angry. [Wolverine, Scott...y'know the two people that can wind others up the most? He rubs his face and stays cupping his cheeks for a moment or two.]

When are things ever been stable? It's as if one disaster or world invasion happens after the other. I hope so, for both of our situations.

No, I don't suppose it would. [ He can't stop himself from worrying either. ]

Makes you wonder if there's someone behind it. The Skrulls again, or some other agent of chaos. The way we keep getting hammered, it seems to impossible to be coincidence.

I haven't heard of something like this happening before, not in the same way. I would have expected my team to be here, arriving at the same time. I can't even begin to think what could behind this.

They said time's frozen back home...you have to have a lot of power to be able to even think of something on that scale. Individual frozen moments? That can't be good.

[He wasn't a genius, but he did date a sorceress.]

And why go through the effort in the first place? I keep hearing that the turtle's sick, but it sounds like it only got sick after people started arriving.

[ He almost feels foolish for saying this, but stranger things have happened. ]

It's making me wonder if the turtle's got any enemies.

[His brow furrows and he strokes his chin as he thinks about it.]

Hmm, that's actually a good point. If it does, what I want to know is, will they attack if they know it's sick?

If they do, they'll find us here waiting for them.

[ A beat, and he adds; ]

Which either throws a wrench in the works or is exactly the way someone wanted it to go. Of course, it's possible it's unrelated, but it doesn't hurt to be prepared.

Then I guess it's even more reason to help out.

[He really doesn't like how this could pan out.]

We'll have to be careful.

We will be. Stick together, keep our people safe, help out where we can. Here or home, it doesn't matter. We can do this.

[He nods slowly. He could ask what he means by 'our people', but Kurt is going to take it as the Foreigners. They're all in the same position here.]

I'm glad you said that. Looks like this place can do with some help after what's happened.

[ As far as Steve's concerned, mutants and homo sapiens are the same people, no matter what anyone else says. ]

Are you starting up the X-Men here? Because if you're not, there's a space for you with the Avengers. And if you are, I should probably give you some of your students back.

[That's a view he likes.

Kurt laughs though and shakes his head.]

I'm not a good leader, not when it comes to something like the X-Men. [Meaning the actual group and not the individual teams. Though, he's been known to shove his responsibility to others. He also doesn't think that the ideas that founded the group are needed here. The kedan are so different, people here have been so open and all the different worlds have different things.]

I won't be starting up the X-Men unless people want them to be here. I have a feeling though, that the idea of being an Avenger would out weigh that by quite a bit. [Cause y'know, it's not as glorious any more after...well after everything. There's still a smile there.]

The Avengers, huh?

One day, I’m hoping that the idea of being on any team that helps protect the world is enough.

[ He thinks that maybe that’s where they all went wrong, once upon a time. Making some teams seem less than others, while others were given weight and prestige. They’re all people. They’re all doing their best. And when they’re called upon, they all fight and die to protect what’s important just like everyone else.

No one’s better. No one’s worth more than anyone else. ]

The Avengers are here. Some of them, anyway. And it sounds like this world is going to need them. If you’re willing, I’d like to have you on board.

I think that's something a lot of people have hope for. I know it's something I still hope to see. [Ha ha, it's funny because he dies.

The world wasn't ready, and sadly it still isn't, to have one team made of everything living on Earth, human and mutant. There's too much of a gap in public and political view in regard to the whole mutant thing. Which is sad because not all mutants are like the small few that have hurt mankind.

Kurt nods slowly.]

If I'm needed, I'll answer. You've kept yourself busy.

[ It’s right about then, listening to him say that, that it’s something that he hopes still to see, that makes Steve determined to get him home. Because he’s here now. The timeline’s already been tampered with. And if he can bring home those whom the world’s lost, then he’s damn well going to do it. ]

You’ll be needed. Don’t doubt it.

[ He can’t help chuckling at the rest. Downtime is something that happens to other people. ]

I’m always busy. Comes with the uniform, I think.

Captain America just sitting back sipping from a coconut shell does come across as an odd thought. Then again, I'd probably say it's earned after we do whatever we can here.

Maybe some day we'll all get to sit in the sun and relax.

[ He doubts it, but it's a nice mental image regardless. ]

Now that'll be a day to look forward to.

[He's had a vacation once and even then it went to Hell pretty quick.]
