[So, normally, Pete was more than willing to respect the level of semi-secrecy that Batgirl--well, one of them, anyway--had been careful to set up for the young super-team she'd been putting together.
However, considering how bad things were getting now with the power loss? He was willing to put that aside for the moment. Especially with all the new supers who'd shown up since he last checked in. He only knew of a small handful of confirmed cases, but frankly? He was beginning to suspect that the odds were good that anyone coming from a place that had superheroes happened to be one. Or at least have powers of some kind. So a blind broadcast seemed more than worth the risk.]
I'm gonna go ahead and spare you guys the whole "help, help, my powers are missing" thing, and just get right to the point. Yes, I know it's happening to a lot of us, and I know some of us are having minor existential crises over it. I'm not here about that part of it. Besides, certain people way more photogenic than myself already got that covered. Me, I'm more concerned about what we're gonna do next. Kinda like that space-case we picked up a while back.
[Oh god don't hate him Kirk and Spock it's just the Spidey persona talking]
I know plenty of us younger Turtle-nauts had special powers, or experience dressing up in snazzy outfits to go around fighting the bad guys back home. And I definitely know not all of us are used to working with other people. But for those of us who are still kinda new at this, or just happen to be young enough we haven't had time to create seventeen different contingency plans for this particular scenario. So I think we should pool our efforts, and do whatever we can to make sure we don't get ourselves killed.
Especially because in my experience? Bad things on this scale tend to be followed by more bad things. And bad people getting a little more confident. So let's follow the lead of that rocket jockey and start figuring out what kind of skills we can all bring to the table. If you're up for it, let me know. The sooner we can get together and start helping each other out, the better.
[At least if anybody got too upset, he could always brush this off as organizing in the wake of the power loss. Which was technically true, so it wasn't like he'd be outright lying about this little recruitment drive.]
[ooc note: anyone paying attention to things like location broadcast, etc., would notice this is coming from Pete's home console. He'll be more than happy tolie about explain that too, considering even though reconstruction has started, the place is still pretty thoroughly destroyed. Never know who could creep in.]

I guess I'm in.

[Which wasn't a lie, so that's off to a good start.]

Yes and no. There's already a superteam here, I just figured this is a good way to handle two birds with one stone. Keep everybody we can alive, and snag some new members in the process.
I just hope Batgirl doesn't find her way back here and beat me up for screwing up the whole "secrecy" and "all possible precautions" thing she had going for it.

Who the heck is Batgirl?

I guess it's a good thing we've been covering taijutsu [hand-to-hand].
If you want to bump up the pace, I promise not to throw you into any walls. [Not as hard as usual, anyway. Hey, bone bruises are part of the learning process. But if ever Spidey needed to build his skill-set as quickly as possible, now would be the time.]
[ ooc: Assuming ongoing CR per our last thread! ]

And for the record? You and your brothers should sign on, too. There's more to this than just the short term stuff.
I'm just hoping I can use the current problem to throw off any unwanted attention, then handle the rest of it once people start showing up in person.

Wait, what exactly is it you want.

I mean, not like I'm gonna stop helping people just because I'm not as strong as I used to be, I kinda doubt anyone else is gonna do the same. And last I checked, this place has an unnaturally high number of kids with powers, and probably even more that I don't know about.
I just want to make sure if they wanna keep doing what they do, they've got people to watch their back or teach 'em how to fight without their powers.

Encrypted video like a pro
Were you aware of the group Batgirl had organized? [ It's not exactly the same thing, but similar enough that it's worth asking. ]
Let him just borrow some of that action to send an encrypted video right back at you
[At all. Heck he was still trying to adjust to so many people with powers all in one place. And none of them actively trying to kill him, even.]
I just thought using this little nightmare scenario as a cover to get more people involved might be a good idea. And maybe help out the other de-powered kids at the same time.
I'd have contacted a few of 'em directly, but I'm not so great with this tech stuff. Don't know if I'd be able to lock down the feed securely enough, and there's gotta be people watching the network for this sort of thing.
[If he was from your universe at all Kara, his immediate guess would be Batman. But he's not, and he just suspects the kedan because of distrust and paranoia.]
aw yeah encrypted video

...Who are you, anyway? The Scarlet Spider?

[Other than the part where your name brings to mind mythological beings not known for their philanthropic nature, but he'll bring that up at a later date.]
And for the record, I'm Spider-Man. "The Scarlet Spider" sounds like something you'd find on a library shelf, not swinging around the city.
Not that I'm doing much of that right now...
[Because it's way harder now that his powers are gone. And the teensy little fact that a fall would probably kill him right now.]
Anyway, you got a name? Aliases are totally good in my book, whoever you are. No need to blow the secret identity thing. You may think this conversation's locked down, but I wouldn't be surprised if we've got a few eavesdroppers.

I'm still pretty new at this. If it's a team you're talking about, I want in.

I figure Kirk's got the adults handled, the rest of us need something on our end, too.
[Wait, why aren't you with Kirk's group on this? He's gonna have to get that figured out.]
How old are you, anyway? Shouldn't you be good enough at this sort of thing by now to be off with Kirk's group?

And I've got... space to do it in too, if that's a problem for anyone. At my place, or... somewhere else. [ At the team's headquarters. Rikki hasn't been there since Steph left, but... she should probably go back some time soon. Make sure everything's okay there. ]
[video] Sorry for the delay, if you don't wanna backtag I totally understand D|
[If they ever get them back. But he's being optimistic, here.]
And we'll probably need plenty of space. I'd expect maybe a half dozen or so, and I know someone who'll be willing to help out. Y'know, make sure you're not stuck dealing with all of us.
[So, "headquarters" it is, unless Rikki got creative with her suite layout.]

\[He'd miss you too, less-jerkish Tony. Which is why he's returning that joke in kind.
That, and the fact that laughing helps make the fear more manageable.]
But hey, if I can handle the Six on my own, what's the worst that could happen?

To some of us it's more than a minor issue. Like having a part of your spirit stolen. [She was fully aware that wasn't the topic he wanted to discuss, but Korra felt she needed to answer it anyway.]
Without those, we're just a bunch of teenagers who are just trying to console each other. Unless you see something else happening.
[Morose doesn't suit Korra, but it's what's left in the wake of her absent bending.]

[Even though he's since been informed secrecy may not have been high on the list of original priorities, and he may have been going Secret Society over this for nothing.]
As for the rest of it, well...you remember that group I told you about? Not long after you showed up?
