[One man, reaching middle age with a wary expression on his face. Then he smirks - the smirk dissolves into a smile but those who are observant, very very observant - might be aware that the smile is not genuine. He runs a hand through his hair with something tucked under his arm.]

I was going to have today off anyway. You know. I get that I'm not dreaming and I get that I'm not going to be able to get back.

[At that, his eyes widen and there's a sense - especially to those of you who might be extra observant that this might be a good thing. Or an unusual thing. It's not something he's had time to process yet.

The expression goes dark.]

Which is pretty fucking rude if you don't mind my saying so. There any order to this spontaneous kidnapping people for riding on turtles sort of thing?

[he is betting no. however.] This would be the part where I flash my badge and introduce myself as Detective Hoffman.[He does so. One handed out of habit before realizing it and sticking it back in his pocket.] ...or indulge that habit and ask people if there's anything that I need to know about being here that's not in the welcoming committee.

[And the policeman turns off the feed and waits.]

That's pretty shiny, but what the heck is if for? [Because badge? Means nothing to her.

She is, however, affected by his aura...something just isn't right with this picture...but that would be making snap judgement.] To answer your question, nope, it all seems to be pretty random...at least I don't know anyone who has picked up a pattern yet. Probably because that would make some things easy to explain and they wouldn't want that.

[She flaps her hand dramatically.] As you figured out you've been shanghaied to Turtle Island where the water is moldy and the natives are tetchy. Welcome, welcome....though that's probably not the best response. These aren't exactly good times.

Dunno what a police officer is...[but she knows competition when she hears it and so she holds up her wrist where there's a fancy looking gold armlet encrusted with a red jewel]...this says I'm a priestess. It also says I can blow shit up with the snap of my fingers...but do you think they care about that? Nope.

[Hey, at least she's honest. She's also woefully uninformed, but she's at least got the honesty thing going for her. So far the only one to really give her any trouble in person was Superman, and that was to be expected.]

...Sounds ironically a lot like how things work back home. [It does though. Hoffman's expression softens but inside - he's quietly judging. She's either an Amanda quality individual or an innocent.

If it's the latter then she's a threat. They're all threats at this point but honestly...knowing how badly Rigg failed...]

I'm guessing typical police techniques would be frowned upon.
