[ The audio clicks on and there's a long pause. When Kyle speaks, his tone is calm, perfectly controlled. It's his Business Voice, blank save for the barest hint of anger. ]

This is Kyle Rayner of the Green Lantern Corps. I apologise for the inconvenience, but our clinic at EA-3B is currently undergoing repairs and won't be able to take more patients at this time. We'll be temporarily operating a backup at WA-1A. [ He attaches a map, showing where it is. ]

Any and all hands with medical experience or healing abilities are always welcome.

[ Another long pause. ]

And if someone could come collect Avatar Korra, that would be appreciated.

[ There is a brief pause, as though he's debating what more to say, before the audio clicks off. ]

[ They can agree on that, much as it pains him to do so, at the very least while he retains his healing abilities he moves further out of the public eye. Any mishaps are now on Korra's head the farther he removes himself from her petty albeit destructive tantrums. ]

If she stormed the place looking for me, then I will keep the location of my own facilities a secret for the time being. Apparently it was common knowledge to anyone not looking to immolate it.

Still I will speak with her once she is on her feet.

[ Spoiler: They will not be civil. ]

We're fine. She came here looking for you, and [waves a hand towards the ruins] passed out.

[He gestures to the stretcher and it disappears, he's now holding Korra in his arms, and hands her over, stiffly.]

I have civilians to tend to.

Were you always this popular, back home?

[It's dry. His anger isn't towards Amon, after all.]

Good luck with diplomacy. You have far more patience than I do.

[Excuse you, his 'Fleet encryptions are unhackable, broski. There's an aggravated noise and Kyle can probably guess that Jim's running a hand through his hair.]

All right, all right. I'll be over in about half an hour.

Not with her lot.

[ He and ~~pesky~~ plucky teenaged protagonists went together like oil and water. ]

I'd admire your restraint, but I suppose giving our mutual friend what she wants sooner now than later is for the best.

[An exasperated noise.]

She's very fortunate no one was injured.

The Avatar of the four nations inspires us all with her very presence.

[ So very dry. ]

[He nearly protests, but that's futile, with Jim. So after he's done moving all of the patients out, he stands outside the smoking ruin, arms folded, tapping his feet irritably. It's being held up by green constructs, and he adds to them occasionally or catches a few bricks as they fall off.]

[He doesn't acknowledge Jim, just stands in his presences and matches their breathing so it's almost like they're one, standing in front of the clinic, and then he waits for Jim to speak. Kyle's all tension and bottled anger, he doesn't trust himself to speak first.]

Good luck, anyway. I'll get to moving as many people as I can.

[omg korra wat

She's just going to barge onto the network without introduction or explanation.]

What happened? What'd she do?

For me?

[ It's a genuine surprise and he can't quite figure how that piece fits into the puzzle, but then Kyle approaches him with Korra and the spirit accepts, holding her with care and surprising ease so that her head was against his shoulder. He gives the Lantern a look that says he'll want more information but he won't push for answers now, not when Kyle has people to help. ]

Okay. Talk later?

[Walking's still hard. Man, he does not envy people who had to live in a century when healing bone took months. He's still got the cast and he needs about three more surgeries before everything's plated together properly, but hey. Could be worse.

This is one of those times where being stubborn actually comes in handy.

He's not wearing his captain's colours this morning, he's all in black and he's got his jacket slung over one shoulder as he comes up next to Kyle and surveys the damage.

(One of those falling bricks makes him grimace, it's a throwback into a ship that's falling apart--)]

Guess we better get started, huh.

[He squints at the video feed.]

You're in Earth Sector? Look outside, towards 3B.

[Flatly:] Yes, for you.

[He doesn't hear the rest of it, as he's already turned around, and heading to help Suxin.]

[All right, That is. A lot of rubble. Lin stares a moment in--well, it should be disbelief, but she knows Korra, so we'll just call it annoyed resignation--before she returns to the console.]

Two questions. One, is everyone unharmed, and two, do I even want to know what happened?

[ Jack stares after him for a moment, baffled and irritated (they were reasonable questions; he cared) and then he turns his focus back to Korra, taking her away from the Clinic. ]

[Kyle, however, needs a lot more than a moment to make his voice flat again. He's too angry.]

One: nobody was injured and she's very lucky that was the case.

[A short pause.]

Two: depends on how much you enjoy headaches.

[He glances downwards: you shouldn't be walking, with that leg but says nothing. Jim's too stubborn and he might take it as pity.]

I've already made the calls. It'll take two weeks to fix, tops. Everyone's accounted for.

[He kicks a stone, irritably, and shoves his hands in his pockets.]

Not even so much as a warning, just threw fire everywhere. Damn metas.

[She's pretty sure she can connect the dots, but she presses on anyway.]

You mentioned a clinic. Is this the same one that Amon works at?

No, it belongs to the Corps. He has a separate one.

[And notice he's not telling you where that is, Lin.]

[Duly noted and eyerolled over.]

I'm not going to hunt it down and level it, Mr. Rayner. And regardless of where his is, I'm guessing he was involved somehow. It's the only thing that would make her snap like that.

What Corps is this?

You handled it.

[His tone is mild, but he leans over and bumps Kyle's shoulder with his own.]

I'll talk to her when she's up.

[It goes without saying that Jim understands teenage delinquency, really.]

[Hearing that, he misses Guy. Guy could talk. Guy knew people. Kyle was just... hopeless and lost, as always.]

[He glances down the street, coldly.]

You can't blame me for not wanting to take that risk. [I don't like seeing people hurt.] Whatever reason she may have had, her actions were still unnecessary, and reckless. She was offered the diplomatic option and refused it.

[YES, HE'S VERY TICKED. He doesn't even correct "Mr. Rayner".]

Simply put, the Green Lantern Corps is a peacekeeping force that functions somewhat like police , and if necessary, an army.

I'm not excusing her actions. I'm not even calling her reasons good ones. [She sounds about as amused as Kyle does by this point.] I just want to know what they were. If anything, I'll be having words with her later myself.

What's your rank, then? Officer? [Her eyes go to the window again. Priorities. Right.] If nobody's showed up to collect her, I will. In the meantime, if you need anyone dug out, or the clinic cleaned up, I can give you a hand.
