[ Jack looks better than he has in months and the combination of his newly cooled 3-A treehouse and the wearable unit Jack kept under his hoodie for when he went out meant he was back to his usual good (ahem) spirits. He was busy during the Yard Sale and may have borrowed some of his "allowance" from his shares of SI to fund a few of the things, but he thinks they'll be well worth it. All gifts are delivered overnight with no excess fanfare, just his initials in the corner of each simple folded card. ]

So, someone should catch me up on what kind of summer holiday things should be happening around here. Not that they'll be nearly as good as winter activities, but I'm gonna be gracious and give them a chance.

[ There's no evident trace of Jack's consternation from a few days ago in Jack's voice -- nor his expression, though he doubts the man has acquired the ability to see him yet. ]

So I wanted to apologize for the mix-up when you arrived and introduce myself properly. My name's Jack, it's nice to meet you. Don't worry about the whole not-seeing thing, that'll probably wear off, it's kind of part of the spirit thing. Also, please don't mind the bed that's in the Stark Building freezer if you go in there, kind of a long story. Anyway, it sounds like Pepper and Bruce have got you settled in, so maybe we'll run into each other at SI some time! Catch you later, Tony.

Leonardo (2012): Directions to a restaurant where he can get damn-near-accurate-pizza free for a month.
Midii: A book on string games and a box of assorted sweet treats.
Pepper: A large coffee mug with cute sayings like "remember that you make someone smile!" painted in rings on the inside, so the more coffee drank the more of them are revealed.
Percy: Reservations for him and Annabeth at a high-end kedan restaurant where tables are impossible to get and a note marking their dinner paid for in advance.
Renly: Another bottle of the wine he purchased during their conversation at the Yard Sale.
Rose: A paid visit to a local spa.
Santo: A series of hyper-buoyant belts and rings made from a special kedan "foam" that can keep even Santo's weight afloat so he can go swimming if he wants.
Traci: A paid visit to a local spa.
Vanessa: One of the recipe books she had been eyeing at the Yard Sale when they spoke.
Victor: A crate of every sports ball and accessory Jack could think of.
Victoria: A jenga tower and a box of assorted sweet treats.
Zatanna: A new tin of her favourite tea and tickets to (basically) kedanese opera, complete with formal wear required.

[He smiles.] Well, how about helping me to test this stuff out then?

It'll be a good time! Not too many bonfires though, okay?

Depending on the size of the party, we should only really need one. Or two small ones.

[He laughs.] Sorry it took so long. How about we meet up in say...thirty minutes at the place I set up those hoops and see what we want to do?

Sounds great, I'll be there!

[He disconnects soon after.

When Jack arrives at the makeshift court, Vic is idly shooting some hoops with one of the balls Jack bought him. He brought the crate too.]

[ Jack arrives shortly after, scooping up one of the other basketballs and leaning his staff against the wall before giving it a few dribbles. He's wearing his usual outfit but if Victor looks closely, there are bumps and ridges of something underneath the hoodie. ]

Hey Vic!

[Grabbing the rebound, Vic turns a grin Jack's way. He lifts a hand to wave and jogs over to his friend.]

Hi, Jack! Thanks for coming down, man.

[Vic's just going to try to hug his friend now.]

[ Jack matched the hug, though it was far less enthusiastic than normal and when he stepped back, he patted the sleeve of his sweatshirt. ]

Sorry, gotta be careful with the new equipment.

[Vic gives Jack a curious look after the hug and the sleeve patting.]

New equipment? What're you wearing under there?

[ Jack pushed up the sleeve to show a series of metal rings and clear tubes carrying a faint blueish liquid. ]

Helping to keep me cooled down.

[Victor leans a little closer to examine the device and then grins.]

This is awesome, Jack. Just like some of the computer cooling systems back home. Where'd you get it?

Damian made it for me. He made me a rougher one when everyone's powers were out but this is more of a finished version, a lot less bulky. Don't touch the tubes though, they'll give you a cold burn. That's why I wear it under my shirt.

[Victor doesn't know who Damian is but if he's helping Jack, he's a good guy as far as Vic is concerned.]

That is really cool. No pun intended. I'm glad you can keep cool now even in warm weather.

[He glances towards the crate and grins a little wider.]

So, want to shoot some hoops or try out some of the other stuff?

[ Jack matches the grin. ]

Let's explore what else we have in there first.

[Nodding, Victor heads over to the crate. Setting the basketball inside, he starts digging around inside it.]

I'm not sure what games some of these are for. I think this is for a sort of handball game.

[He holds up a smaller ball as he speaks, looking to Jack.]

[ Jack nodded enthusiastically, having seen them used for exactly that. ]

Yeah, and it goes against a wall.

[ He shrugged his sleeve back down and took the ball, cupping it in his hand experimentally before giving it a hard toss at the side of the building. It rebounded quickly, having a much higher elasticity content and sent pinging back towards Victor. ]

[Victor jumped, smacking the ball back towards the wall so it bounces Jack's way.]

Just like back home. We had a training program like this in the Danger Room too. There were lasers there though.

[ The spirit whoops and swatted the ball back again, the impact stinging the palm of his hand though in a good way. ]

Lasers, huh? Maybe we'll save that for round two.

[Sticking with his normal hand for now to avoid any unfortunate accidents, Victor swats the ball as it comes his way. He doesn't mind the sting, happy to be enjoying the game with his friend.]

What, are there lasers in that crate I didn't notice?

Right, because I totally packed those between the soccer balls and the badminton net!

[ Jack had to jump for the next ball, slapping it back towards the wall and landing lightly. He's not sure he can match Victor's agility but he's certainly going to try! ]

There's a badminton net in there too? Cool.

[Victor laughs as he dives to get the next rebound, rolling to his feet afterwards.]

The lack of lasers is alright though. As fun as the Danger Room and Danger Cave could be, they hit hard for simulations.

Well the only hard hitting you're gonna get here is when I beat your score!

Big talk, Jack. Let's see if you can back it up. [He pauses a moment.] What is the score anyway?

... we were keeping score?

I thought you were.

[And BONK. Vic gets pegged right in the forehead with the ball, distracted so he misses it. He falls right on his rear and after a moment of wondering what hit him, he bursts out laughing.]

I think that means you win.
