[ Someone is a bit sulky today and you can maybe hear him swiveling his chair back in fourth in a bored manner. ]

The police here are just as useless as the ones back home.

How many of you are detectives and how many of you have been shoo'd away from crime scenes here?

I'm not a detective but I work in the forensics department back home. I haven't been to a crime scene yet here - are there a lot of them?

[Crime scenes, plural. An ordinary enough event (unfortunately) but that doesn't mean Barry has to like it.]

Not that I've seen. But there was a locked room that was nearly classified as a suicide.

Sounds like something out of Clue. [Did it involve a candlestick, by any chance?] But why the question then, if you haven't seen many?

Because, if getting shoo'd away is going to be a common occurrence, I want to know about it so I can work around it.

I'd say it's a common enough occurrence in most places, but if you have the right credentials you can usually bypass it.

Badges don't really mean much to the Emperor's people here. My partner and I haven't been allowed anywhere near anything worth looking into. [ But that's more of an aside because wow don't dis cops bro ] The men and women on the Force back home put their lives at risk to do all they can within the limits they're given.

Being a detective doesn't make you or anyone else any better than them.

I'm aware. But ignoring an obvious murder and and trying to declare it a suicide irritates me.

Like if a the bullet entered right side of the temple and exited through the left and the gun is in the left hand well, it's unlikely the person shot their right temple using their left hand.

I've seen shitty detectives do the same thing.

And yes, just the other day. Thankfully, someone pointed out that it was murder. Sadly, they were not on the force and only got shoo'd away. [ It was him. He did it, but that was as his teenage self and so a secret. ]

Where was it? Do you know who the victim was?

They tried to declare a murder case a suicide, obviously they need some kind of help.

How do you know it was a murder? [She's trying to avoid putting too much emphasis on the 'you' in that sentence. Ava also looks pretty unqualified to be investigating crimes right now, but she considers herself pretty good at it.]

Because a left handed person committing suicide would cut their throat right to left and not left to right. Yet, for some reason the cut is deeper closer to the trachea-which couldn't be true if he'd really cut his own throat left to right.

Yeah, that sounds worth checking out. I take they ignored any attempts to tell them anything?

At first, but Shinichi-niichan finally got them to listen-and then threatened with a court date or something.
