[ Jack's voice is one of the biggest changes that he'd been affected with: higher and lighter, even without the soft tone that he's speaking with right now. If you haven't spoken to him since the misspell took hold, it might even be hard to identify the audio only feed as his, unless the console ID is checked. ]

Traci didn't show up for work today so I went to check on her. Her suite is empty... it looks like she's gone home too.

[ A pause, almost like he intended that to be the end of the feed and then he speaks again, this time with resolve and a lilt much more like Jack Frost. ]

I know this has been mentioned offhandedly a few times in the past but I hadn't heard of anyone taking it on, so I'll be doing it from now on: keeping track of everyone whose come and gone from Tu Vishan. And I don't just mean their names and dates... but what made them important while they were here.

[ another pause, and the faint chirp of Baby Tooth in the background ]

[They got along and Korra counted Traci among her friends. Mako and her were even supposed to do a double date with Traci and Jaime since she had yet to meet him. Go fishing together when they had the chance.

[ Jack's feed stays on audio, but his tone is understanding even if it's not a familiar voice. ]

[The work part kind of gave it away. That and Zatanna was more than happy to inform Korra of Jack's status after her spell bomb went off.]

I can't. I'm the only fisher now. [And minus one friend.] I'll bring in more to cover us.

[ He couldn't deny that, but... ]

Sure, if you've got the time. Last person I went fishing with was Finnick when he showed me all the best fishing spots, so if you ever hire someone else I can show them the ropes.

[She didn't have to with Traci, Finnick was on that too.]

Business keeps changing on us.

[ Jack wishes he'd spent more time learning from Finnick when he was here, but it's too late for that now too. ]

[Didn't they just lose Finnick a month ago? Meeting Julie was going to become a priority for Korra, especially now that Traci was gone. She was the only person she could talk shop with.]

I'll try to keep an eye out for any possible fishers, if you want to keep hiring?

[ Jack could hold a conversation........... ]

That sounds good. Even if someone needs a job and doesn't know anything about fishing though, I can still find something for them to do.

I haven't seen any new foreigners posting on the network lately, so I can't make any promises.

[Don't worry Jack, she's pretty proud of herself for managing to keep it strictly business.]

There's one foreigner I can talk to, but I don't know how that would turn out.

[She had no idea Traci's absence would be affecting her outside of their friendship.]

Yeah, I meant a fishing pole. I’d be really surprised if it was the other way around.

Have you tried using ice? [It was a thought didn’t even occur to her until just now. Freezing fish.]

[ he laughs ] Then yes, I know how to fish. It's not exactly a challenging sport.

I've used ice to make the lures but nothing beyond that.

[A simple smile.]
