[With Ariadne most definitely gone - awake, presumably, though Arthur still can't figure out how she could've woken up but he still can't - Arthur is now alone in this place.

In some ways, being alone opens up certain possibilities that he wouldn't have considered available as long as others were here that he needed to protect. It's just him, and he knows how to look after himself, and he doesn't have to worry about keeping stories straight or anything like that.

Besides, the dream hasn't collapsed yet; what's a few more projections knowing some things?]

I want to get in touch with anyone who had knowledge of those archways in Sinbrilee. [He still disdains the whole idea of magic, but it's clearly a delusion he'll have to work with for the time being.] Especially the dreaming ones.

There are some, ah, tests that I'd like to run.

Kind of seems like there's plenty of stuff like that to do right here without getting a whole other dimension thing involved.

[She doesn't seem to be trying to convert him, though -- just being wry. The Dreaming on the whole wasn't a great experience for Toph.]

We might be able to get more information. I can't say I've ever tried to go into a turtle's subconscious, even if he's been in mine.

[Whatever floats his boat! Toph isn't big on encryption (and can't do it herself anyway), so she'll just follow along.]

Sure I've had those. But they're dreams, so they're meant to end. Sooner or later, everyone's got to wake up.

And hey, if there's even a chance, sounds good to me? Not like regular methods are working.

[Not that she's going to volunteer to be experimented on, mind you.]

[He won't argue the point further - she's not the first person who didn't understand, and she won't be the last. In his experience, it usually takes actually spending time in a shared dream to really get it, and even then, some people just aren't the right sort for it.

Eames can poke fun all he wants about how "unimaginative" Arthur is, but when push comes to shove, he has plenty of imagination. Many people, on the other hand, are just far too grounded in reality to get the same pleasure from it.]

All right, well, I'll see what I can figure out with what I have first. No one's required to go under with me - I can navigate dreams better on my own than with someone who's untrained, anyway.

[Toph just prefers the real world to anything else. Plus she probably wouldn't make the best dream companion anyway, so it's just as well; her blindness means that she wouldn't see whatever he was building. Those blind since birth are blind even in dreams.]

Like I said, just let me know. And if you do end up wanting someone with you, there's probably lots of people around here who'd do it.
